Loving watching this again tonight. Incredible that a fog is the only water source for the driest desert in the world in chile. Still a fair amount of plant and animal life

Those infared cameras are awesome. I can't imagine being the camera man sitting next to those lions trying to take down an elephant in the dark and only being able to see through my camera. So cool.

I want HiDef for this show too! This series is so remeniscent of "Blue Planet", and makes me wish that there was a whole series devoted to each of the domains that are highlighted in the "Planet Earth" series.

Plus, did you see the footage of that Great White Shark? Great Gorilla of Manilla!

    I need an answer bad.

With only 2 episode left and one of them being "Caves", I am worried that we aren't going to get a segment about this little guy from the original US trailer:

He is one of the main reasons I tuned into the show, can ANYONE tell me what it is so that I can do some indenpendent research on it in case it isn't in the last episode?

It's a mandarin duck chick, 24 hours old, diving out of the nest. It should be in the forest episode - they nest in trees.

I'm not sure if the BBC restrict access to their video clips to the UK only, but you might be able to watch it from www.bbc.co.uk/planetearth - the video is called "Mandarin Duck Dive". There's a direct link to that one below:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/planetearth/realmedia/video/bb/pe0806_16x9_bb.ram

[edited lots after I found the video and tried to make the link clickable]

So funny that you guys are discussing the ducklings! I just came on here to ask who would win in a cute contest: baby Mandarin ducklings or Emperor penguin chicks?
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series along with my younger brother. It has been an incredible experience.
