  • A fine episode let down by dodgy acting and too many close ups.

This episode is on a simular level to the presvious one, 'the cure'. It is by no means a series classic but still a fine episode that has a good, unique storyline whilst featuring some unusual flaws. I will come to the negatives later but first the positives. As I say the story is challanging and complex and takes the series down a sci-fi route we have seen surprisingly little of so far. Looking back I have probably forgotton half the plot points as there is a lot going on, perhaps too much as it doesn't seem overly developed. My only real criticism is that the direction and acting is at a low standered - as low as this series got. The director in this episode is intent on using so many close ups that it gets extremely annoying. Plus the acting by the new humans is awful - esspecialy the young man and his girlfriend (I forget there names). If these aspects had been improved I would have definatley goven this episode and 8moreless

    • Much controversy surrounds whether this episode actually aired and when. By several accounts it did air on 12/6/74, followed by a one-week break, followed by the airing of the series finale on 12/20/74. This site reflects that accordingly, although many sources do list this episode as "Unaired," possibly because it was pre-empted in one or two major markets. Edit
