Alexis and Noah's green wedding will incorporate a host of recycled and reusable products to help the couple celebrate their union in a most ecologically friendly way. The festivities begin with a lavish, $18,000 welcome party to greet the 250 guests as they arrive at the Omni Shareham Hotel in Washington, D.C. In celebration of both their marriage and the arrival of summer, the couple has asked guests to wear white and gold. The bride will be adorned in her grandmother's 12-carat diamond ring, plus nearly $75,000 worth of additional diamonds! The ceremony will be held in the garden at the Omni hotel, overlooking Rock Creek Park. Hidden lighting in the surrounding plants will give the area an ethereal atmosphere. After the ceremony, guests will move to the terrace for an Asian-inspired cocktail hour. White lanterns in different shapes will hang from trees and be draped across the terrace. Next, guests will enter the Palladian Room for a plated dinner reception with seating at large banquet tables. After each course of their meal, guests will be directed to a different room with distinctive decor, entertainment and atmosphere, as they await the next part of their meal. Tables will be dressed in rich linens, and covered by crystal and gold candelabras, crystal candlesticks and red roses. Table decor alone will cost nearly $13,000! The couple will be ushered in with a rolled carpet that leads them to their own thrones at the end of the main room. After enjoying a multi-tiered and elaborate wedding cake, guests will be gathered into a disco-themed after party, where a DJ and dancers will entertain guests as they dance on a lucite floor covered in pictures of the bride and groom. Photographer Stan Stearns, whose picture of "John-John" Kennedy remains one of the most famous photographs of all time, is on-hand to capture it all.moreless
