  • The tower inferno!

Very interesting episode. As they go inside the tower, they're spooked by ghosts lurking around. They even make mysterious illusion flames that are not real! Gastly and Haunter made those mysterious illusions! It was really cool that both can do that even though it wasn't an actual attack. But the challenge lies ahead, once the heroes rescue the Pokemon from TR. Is this why some gym-type episodes is double?

    • Who's That Pokémon: Raticate

    • The history of the Tin Tower and Burned Tower is changed drastically from the games. In the games two towers were built. The Brass Tower, said to awaken Pokémon, and the Tin Tower, the resting place of Pokémon. Lugia resided in the Brass Tower, Ho-Oh in the Tin Tower. One day lightning struck the Brass Tower and caught on fire. It eventually started raining and the fire was put out, but the tower was lost. Ho-Oh then revived three Pokémon that were killed in the fire: Raikou (representing the lightning that hit the tower), Entei (representing the fire that burned the tower), and Suicune (representing the rain that put out the fire). Ho-Oh and Lugia then fled and were never seen again. The anime changes it to just the Brass Tower being built in ancient times as the original Tin Tower. Thieves trying to find Ho-Oh set it on fire. Ho-Oh once again resurrected Raikou, Entei, and Suicune and then fled. The city then built a new tower of the same name, hoping Ho-Oh would return, but it has not.

    • This episode was originally going to be called "The Tower Inferno", but was renamed due to the September 11th attacks.
