Ash and Gary, two long time rivals, are in the middle of their match at the Johto League Silver Conference. The battle is raging on fiercely with neither side letting up. Ash is backed into a corner and Gary gets the upper hand once Ash is left with just his Charizard and Gary still has three Pokmon, including his powerful Blastoise. Who will win this battle of the rivals?moreless
  • What should have been the end of season 5, this episode is the complete original saga of Ash's quest for humility and maturity by beating Gary in an official league.

From the very first episode to this spectacular episode, Ash's first quest is one for humility and maturity and this episode proves that. In the first couple of seasons, Ash is quite immature and all sorts of bad behavior, but as we progress along he changes winning more important battles. The true way to prove his maturity and humility was by beating Gary in an official league battle. Tauros didn't work, Heracross took out one, Snorlax took out two, Bayleef and Muk helped weaken Blastoise (even if rapid spinned away Blastoise lost some health especially for Bayleef which Ash praised for), and Charizard (my personal favorite) took out three even Blastoise using a two-way attack (Flamethrower to turn the rocks into lava thus lowering Blastoise's strength away gradually; and Seismic Toss delivering the final blow). Overall this should be the point where true avid casual fans like myself should stop on the original series (first five starting from one up to 271 (this episode)).moreless

After sending out Blastoise, it knocks out Heracross. Now Ash sends out Muk but calls it back. Now when he sends out Bayleef, it gets knocked out as well. After the usual break, Ash sends out Snorlax and beats Gary's Arcanine with HyperBeam. Now with Nidoqueen, IcePunch faints it. Against Scizor, it loses with MetalClaw. Now using Muk, it faints with Swift. Using Charizard now, it beats Scizor with Flamethrower. With Gary's Golem it failed using Seismic Toss but won using DragonRage. Now against Balstoise it was an epic battle but with one powerful SeismicToss, Ash beat Gary. During the night he saw Gary and gave him the other half of the Pokeball as a prize for beating him and wished Ash best of luck on moving on. Now with Harrison's Kecleon, it becomes a mystery with its Color Change ability. How will Pikachu defeat it?moreless
