Steelix uses Dig to attack Noctowl. However it should not have worked since Dig is a Ground-type attack and Noctowl is a part Flying-type, and thus it is immune to it.
Ash's Totodile uses Leer for the first time.
Ash uses Pikachu, Totodile, Snorlax, Noctowl, Bayleef, and Charizard in the battle while Harrison uses Kecleon, Sneasel, Hypno, Steelix, Houndoom, and Blaziken
When Ash calls out Totodile, it was in a regular pokéball, not the Lure Ball.
At one point, Ash and Misty were concerned with Ice Punch not damaging a Steel-Type. However, Steelix is part ground, and Ground-Types are weak against ice. Therefore, Ice attacks should have normal damage on Steelix.
Brock says that Ash knows nothing about Harrison's Hoenn Pokemon, but he should at least be familiar with Kecleon's abilities, as he encountered two in "The Kecleon Caper".
