  • A series that has way over stayed its welcome

Ok, I won't lie. The first couple of seasons off Pokemon were amazing. The first season theme song? Simply a masterpiece. It's what made me love the series growing up. Seriously, how can anyone listen to that theme song and not feel inspired to want to enter that world and become a Pokemon master themselves? It was that good.

Sadly, as time went on, a fact became painfully obvious to me: Ash was never, EVER going to become a Pokemon master. Being a young kid at the time, I was naive and thought Ash was going to grow and develop into the master the show kept saying he was striving to be. You know, like the Red and Blue games did with your character.

But yea... that would mean the series would have been alot shorter, and obviously the people running this anime couldn't have that, could they? No, they rather keep Ash stupid, immature and basically a cardboard cut out, never reaching the top or even getting close to it.

Seriously, WHY? What good did that do keeping Ash the same the whole series? Eventually people are going to get sick of him because it's the same old song and dance. How can they root for a kid who's never going to reach the goal of becoming a Pokemon master as fans do in the FREAKIN GAMES!

Worse yet, the series began to repeat the same plots over and over. Win 8 badges, go to the Pokemon league, lose in Round 1-7, lather rinse and repeat. Oh and that doesn't include the horrible subplot of Team Rocket still trying to capture Ash's Pikachu.

Again, WHY? There comes a point between being persistent and being utter morons. Plus, it was never going to change. They were never going to capture Pikachu. It was always short lived. Over and over AND OVER! UGH!

Like Ash, Team Rocket members Jesse and James long overstayed their welcome. I would have been fine with them had they... you know, grown and developed like Ash SHOULD HAVE as well, but they never did. They're the same bumbling idiots from Season 1.

Even worse still, they replaced Ash's competent ones like Brock and Misty to boring and useless ones like Max, Iris and Clan. Seriously what did they bring to the table that Brock and Misty didn't already? Nothing. They were just there, mostly just cheer leading in the background. Which defeats the whole purpose of them even being there.

I'm not against Ash having new friends, but seriously, HAVE THEM DO SOMETHING IMPORTANT! Don't just have them there for nothing more than spectators or eye candy like Dawn and May. Seriously, why were they even there? I understand animes like fanservice and all, but c'mon, these are underaged girls. There's nothing funny or sexy about showing them in fanservice scenes.

Yes, I know they did it with Misty, but it was a rarity. Plus, it was funny the one time they did when she screamed because the wall came down with Ash and Brock seeing Misty in nothing but a towel.

Ok, I won't lie. I'm not against fanservice entirely, but have the characters do more than just be the eye candy for the young boys. That's why Misty was such a good comrade. She wasn't just there to put into a bikini or show in nothing but a towel, but she actually was the straight man or straight woman in this case, giving Ash an earful when he screwed up or needed correction.

THAT is why Ash's current comrades are not as good. Brock and Misty actually helped Ash learn and get better as a trainer. What do these new members do in that regard? Little to nothing. Like I said, they're just there, eye candy or even in Serena's case, a pointless love interest.

AGAIN, Misty fit that role perfectly, as she secretly loved Ash, but was too prideful to admit it. That's what made their relationship so good. They argued and bickered, but you could see deep down they both really care about each other, especially when they parted ways.

This is what I seriously don't get. The series has no problem replacing Ash's friends, but they can't replace Ash as well? Why? It's obvious Ash is not very well liked by fans nowadays so why not have a new character for us to follow? You know, how about a girl one for a change? It'd be a nice change of pace.

Which now leads me to my most pet peeve of the show. While the fact Ash will never win it all is pathetic, what makes it even worse is the fact there was a perfect solution for him to become a Pokemon master and still continue the series.

After he wins and becomes the Pokemon champion of the world, start over with a new character 10 years down the road. Like I said, have it be a girl character and have her be different from Ash. Make it so she has interesting comrades as well like Brock and Misty and go on a journey to become a Pokemon master herself. And then... once she gets good enough to take on the Pokemon champion, have it revealed the current champion is the character fans watched from the earlier seasons: Ash himself, now in his late 20's or early 30's.

And have a a battle for the ages between the Pokemon world pf old and new in an epic series finale where both trade blow for blow, but in the end, the newer character wins like the fans did with in the Silver and Gold games over Red.

AGAIN, this plot was dropped into the anime's lap. Why would they not take advantage of such of a cool premise? It would have been an awesome way to end the series and even have fans of old tuning in to see how it all plays out.

But no... obviously the hacks who ruin this anime don't give a crap about effort. They just rather regurgitate the same crap over and over AND OVER!

Which is why I rated this series overall a 4. If I was going by the first 3-5 seasons, i'd rank it as high as 8 and no lower than a 6. But because this series has dragged on way too long and overstayed its welcome to the point its now a joke of its former self, this anime deserves no higher than a 4 for running this series into the ground and not even caring its doing so.

The latest anime season looks friggin horrible. Seriously, how is the first season's animation and art style looking like a masterpiece in comparison? Aren't we living in an age where technology is much improved and we can do alot more than back in the late 90's?

Oh yea, that's right... they've gotten so lazy now, they don't care anymore. The Pokemon anime, like the Simpsons, is officially a walking corpse. No life to it. No quality or substance. It's just dragging on because the idiots who run it don't know when to quit.

Congrats, guys. You could've made this anime one of the best ever if you would done it right and ended it a long time ago. But I guess you love your money too much to do that.

Lickboot would be so proud of you.

  • Original Series was original trio back

The original series was best along with best trio Ash, Misty and Brock on the is getting improved in terms of animation but pokemons are getting pathetic in terms of look. Now, Pokemon's audience seems to be for babies or 5 and 6 year old who don't even understand the backstory of Ash or Pikachu. it will soon end the entire anime and publicity is decreasing very rapidly. love interest is what the fans want now, and it is not even too late for that. Pokemon GO(game) also take back a lot of fans who have stopped watching pokemon along with the current viewers. My advice to the writers is just start the new journey of Ash with the original trio Ash, Misty And brock and bring some love relationship with Misty. As Ash and Misty have similar goals and Misty helped Ash develop with advice and by making fun of him to push Ash to train harder or when he didn't understand misty didn't appeared for a long span of time , she could help in revival of the anime. More original series pokemons need to be introduced back instead of new generations one.
  • Everyone's reccommended

Everyone must like this show better than Sonic X

is gud... but due to its repeating concept over the 5 is getting boring until xyz came... xyz is intresting to watch and there is a story in the background of ash.... so gud luck
  • Not bad. But It is overstayed. Needs to end.

Pokemon Anime is not only great and awesome but also my childhood. It makes me play pokemon video games, card games. It also makes me Pokemon Fanboy.

In the concerate, It loosley based on Pokemon Games, but story line and most of game characters heavily based on Pokemon Games, especially newer Pokemon Seasons. Most of Pokemons' description follows their appearance and game's setting up. Anime's story line is dramatic and exciting. I think it is the best of game based anime and cartoon.

But It is getting worse. And it is too overstayed. It has too many episodes. It's Over 9 hundered!!! Also 400+ episodes are useless episodes! For example, Ash usually attempts festivals or contests, which are useless and not related with aiming to Pokemon Master.

I've watched 100+ episodes which are Ash and his friends get lost or be in trouble They find a pokemon or a trainer. / Ash and his friends try to find way or try to solve problem with first seen pokemon or trainer. / Team Rocket appear. / Thunderbolt!! / Team Rocket fly into the sky. / Ash and his friends spilt up with first seen pokemon or trainer and ash says "See you again!" but they will not meet again. I'm boring when I watch this. Yes, most of plots are same or similar.

Pokemon Anime aired since 1997. Now it is 2016. If you watched pokemon since 10 years old, you are 29 years old now! But Ash still 10 years old boy! What the heck is this? It means Original season is 19 years ago anime, and Advance Generation is 13 years ago anime, and Diamond and Pearl is 10 years ago anime! Even XY started in 3 years ago!

You may think Pokemon AG ~ XY are so bad, but I think they are not bad. Actually I don't want to watch Ash's Adventure anymore. I just want to watch new cartoon series about Pokemon or another nintendo related games series, like New super mario super show.

This year is Pokemon 20th anniversary. I'm so happy about that. I want to see 1000th pokemon. But I don't want to see Pokemon 'Anime' 20th anniversary, 1000th Episode or Ash spilts up with Serena, Clemont and Bonnie / returns to Kanto / releases his pokemons in Oak's Lab / Goes to another region / STARTS HIS ANOTHER JOURNEY!!!

I'm sorry to give poor score. It is not bad. But It is too overstayed and needs to end.
  • The Pokmon special Manga should had been the anime.

The Pokmon anime have some good moments but it was mediocre since Gen 1 . Pokmon adventures changes the protagonists each Gen, fully evolve teams, Characters actually age, better plots, and bad guys.
  • The Original series Pokemon Anime was the best. The show started to go done hill around the AG/DP era

The original series trio Ash, Misty and Brock were the only three best characters on the show. May/Max and Dawn were the worst characters to ever be added to the show.

AG series was total garbage and it have very lame ugly 3 Gen Pokemon.

DP series was pure trash and the 4 Gen Pokemon didn't look any better either, plus characters like Paul and Hunter J has ruin the anime.

BW series did improve the anime a whole lot more better with interesting characters and new Pokemon, iris/Cilan were really great main characters and the Rival Trip was really badass.

XY series is doing good so far, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie are really great characters and the new Pokemon are really great.
  • Too many new characters and loosing sight of the main goal(s). Started off really good, but is terrible now.

I was 7 when Pokemon first came out. Most of the hinting that Misty liked Ash or that Brock liked other girls flew over my peers' heads at that point. Re-watching, it's clear to see that the show was originally meant for a broader audience than it is now. As a teen or young adult, you could watch the first 4 or even 5 seasons with kids and enjoy the laughs on multiple levels. Now, Pokemon's audience seems to be for babies or 5 and 6 year olds who don't even understand the backstory of Ash or Pikachu. That kind of writing should cause for the Anime to end entirely. The writers ruined Pokemon, starting with getting rid of Misty. Misty will never be a water Pokemon master by being cooped up in a gym, and most gym leaders leave the gyms and travel. Why doesn't Misty travel and attend more leagues, just like Ash does? Ash and Misty have similar goals, and if Ash just has Misty take all his water Pokemon, he could focus on the other types of Pokemon and the both of them could become masters quicker. It made no sense to write Misty off especially because she was treated the worst with little to no conclusion at all. The writers should have ended Ash as the main character after the Johto League and started focusing on other characters' stories such as May and Dawn without Ash. Ash being perpetually 10 and being held back by traveling with new trainers all the time makes no sense. The ratings for the show are going down and quickly. My advice to the writers is to terminate Ash as the main character as soon as possible before the anime tanks completely. Yes, bringing a love interest is what the fans want, but it's too late for that and should have continued with Misty. Now with X and Y, you are making the old fans resent Pokemon. Why keep making new Pokemon? Why not stick with the Pokemon already established and build off of that like when Ash brought back Charazard (however, that made it necessary for Ash to have flashbacks, and we can do that with every Pokemon, can we?)? Ash has little to no chance of ever becoming a Pokemon Master now with all these new Pokemon every single episode. Yes, people might like X and Y because Ash seems to be older and there seems to be a relationship there that was like his relationship with Misty, but I'm telling you, Serena is not developed and pushes for a relationship with Ash too much -- it's rushed and doesn't make sense. She is clingy and boring, and makes the show boring especially when compared to Misty or May. Misty helped Ash develop with advice and by making fun of him to push Ash to train harder or when he didn't understand things. With the newer characters, Ash is the one teaching them. Ash is the one who needs to learn the most if he wants to be a Pokemon Master; he needs to surround himself with people who help him achieve his goal. This is why Brock and Misty were the best companions for Ash. The writers have created shipping wars that will never end, and now the writers will never be able to make all or the majority of the fans happy, thus the anime needs to die ASAP. Ending the anime would not end the sales of the games. In my opinion, the newer Pokemon are ridiculous and there really needs to stop being new Pokemon introduced.
  • Good Kids Show

Pokemon is an OK show its not amazing but its not terrible. This show's amazing if you're a kid.
  • repeat

as a viewer pokemon is in a eternal loop its kinda getting boring died out on me on BNW JUSR want an improvement from this show maybe a new main character?
  • Oh yeah, my favorite anime besides Initial D.

Great character design, good humor and overall awesome! My favorite Pokmon is Lucario. Thumbs up if you like him as well!
  • You're Now the League Champion

I shall review the pokemon anime based on the five Japanese seasons, the Original series, Advanced series, Diamond and Pearl series, Best Wishes and XY.

The original series is probably my least favorite. The second season was all filler, Tracy was a mediocre character and Brock didn't resonate with me. Misty, Ash, Gary and Team Rocket were amazing. This series is a unique spin on the games, and although not the best part of the anime, it is still great for little children. Rating- 7.9

Advanced Series was pretty good too. May and Max make a nice duo, Brock gains some personality, New rivals are introduced and Team Rocket is still Team Rocket. Contests are introduced and a new style for the art direction is used. It's an improvement on the original series, but May and Max share the spotlight, Brock has much to be restored and it feels like the original series enhanced.

    Rating- 8.2

Diamond and Pearl were amazing. Contests are expanded upon, Dawn is a wonderful addition, and while Ash and Dawn are in the spotlight, Brock developed even more, and ... Team Galactic is just amazing and the best in the franchise so far. Dawn's arch is just amazing, and Ash still has the spotlight.

    Rating- 8.9

Best Wishes is like a weird version of Diamond and Pearl with no contests and not as great characters. Cilan is like Brock and Iris doesn't have her own spotlight. Ash's personality sucks, and I would've loved to seen more of N. Team Plasma was okay, along with Trip, but not a lot is done to change the flow of the story. Decolore Islands was okay, but it was a big filler arch.

    Rating- 8.1

... Ash's character improved a bit, Clemont is a unique take on a stereotype, and Bonnie made the whole gang work as a group. Serena at first was absolutely terrible, but after episode 60, she greatla improved very quickly. I cannot wait to see what she has in store as a character. I didn't really like the pace of the first season, but the second season improved it. I want to see more of Team Flare, develop Scottie and Serena's characters and keep the amourshipping hype train going.

    Rating- 9.2

    Overall rating- 8.5
  • I am obsessed with pokemon :)

I love to watch pokemon but i was disappointed to see ash in black and white as he was behaving so novice and before that he just defeated the legendary pokemons latios and darkrai, i couldn't bear to see him loose to a beginner like trip.
  • pokemon x y the best

I like pokemon xy amongst all just wanted ash to remember and tell others that he also had a and bulbasaur and laparas when he come across these pokemon in it seemed he forgot abt also would like if ash wins kalos Serena tells ash about her feelings and asg gets mega charlizard....

I hope the writers don't disappoint this time.... .plz...
  • A glimmer of hope!

I wrote an old review on how I used to love the anime of Pokemon up until mid Sinnoh. Sicne then, I have finally gotten around to watching all of Sinnoh and my feelings are still the same about it. WAY TOO MANY fillers and the series seemed to center around Dawn despite Ash being the main character. I'm still not a big Dawn fan but she isn't as bad as Iris.

I completely grew disatisfied with Pokemon Black/White, the anime was atrocious to me. Iris was just flat out annoying, her and her annoying "You're such a kid" catchphrase. Seriously, Pokemon doesn't need catchphrases, I can't stress this enough lol. Cilan wasn't any better either, his constant use of food analogies while talking about practically anything was annoying and way too one dimensional. So as you can see. And I feel that they butchered Ash the most, he was flat out dumb and novice which he shouldn't be considering he's been traveling forever. Team Rocket, I'll admit that I did like their "serious" phase in the beginning, it was a nice change of pace from their Sinnoh appearances. Honestly, they were awful in Sinnoh I think so seeing the more serious Team Rocket was pretty cool.

Of course, it didn't last and they reverted back to their annoying selves. It's pretty obvious that I hated B/W and I will never sit through it.

But just when all hope was lost, X/Y came out and while I was skeptical at first, I have to say... It's actually pretty good! Ash isn't all that stupid anymore like he was in B/W so he's easier to take, Clement is a very likable supporting character, I enjoy him a lot. Serena... At first I found her boring and I hated how they shoe-horned her into Ash's back story. It's just stupid how she was "So in love for him" for like years even though they only met once. It's just too unrealistic for my taste. Anyway, I do like Serena a lot more than Iris and I'm hoping that she'll surprise us and won't be known as "the girl who's obsessed with Ash", I feel a good future for her. Bonnie... I could honestly do without but she isn't as in your face/abrasive like Max was so she's okay. And finally Team Rocket, I have to say that I like them a lot here. Sadly, not as much as I did during Kanto, Johto, & the first half of Hoenn but they are a big step up from Sinnoh & Unova. For one, they finally DON'T TALK IN RHYME anymore!! Thank you writers for removing that! Michelle Knotz as Jessie is sounding very good as well. I'm still on the fence with James & Meowth's voice actors though I will say, with the new mature script writing, they sound better.

All in all, Pokemon X/Y is doing very well I think. It feels like the writers learned from their mistake in Sinnoh & Unova and fixed them in Kalos so I can't wait to see more of it. I am still a big fan of the original seasons with Ash, Misty, & Brock but X/Y is not terrible by any stretch and it's re-sparked my love for the anime again. Here's to a bright future for Pokemon.
  • Pokemon Review

Pokemon is a great series overall, but has had some ups and downs in its time.

Kanto was a great starting point, and Ash was made to relate to other young Pokemon fans of the time. This was fine, but if you already knew a lot about Pokemon, there was nothing really there for you - and as we all know, the start is what really hooks viewers. Then we got introduced to other characters with a range if personalities, like Brock, Misty and Team Rocket. As Johto and Hoenn passed, though, I think the writers ran out of ideas for Ash and co and thought of a new star; Dawn. Of course, Ash was still important, but Diamond and Pearl altogether seemed to be centered around Dawn.

Next, there was Black and White. This series seemed like it tried to revamp the show, but failed miserably. It just changed our favourite characters like Ash and Team Rocket into completely different characters. Oh, and Iris.

    And Cilan.

X and Y really hooked me again. It made it seem like Unova never happened. It has a balanced focus on all the characters, as well as bringing in more side-characters than ever.

Let's count: Shauna, Trevor, Tierno, Diantha, Professor Sycamore, Ninja Sanpei, Meyer and that girl with the fennekin who isn't serena and has pink hair I think.
  • X and Y is the best series yet!!!!

    Okay where do i start....

I always loved pokemon, hell it was my whole world when i was a kid.... Kanto, Jhoto, and Hoen were really good.. Ash's character was improving as his experience increased and things were finally looking up for him.. Then came Diamond and Peral... In some ways this series was good.. Introducing a girl which had a co-star status in the anime was a bold move by the writters... Also Ash improved immensely but lost in the semi-finals... this would have been acceptable if the opponents pokemon werent sooped up legionaries... It just reminded everyone what a looser Ash was....

Then came Black and White.... There is only one word for it and that is "shit".... Somehow magically Ash lost all of his experience and was converted into a version of his Kanto self ... stupid, implusive, and non experienced.... His travelling companions sucked with the girl being a rehash of misty and the male being a "i-know-how to-do -a-variety-of-things-but-aint-a-master-of-any" person with stupid food puns.... Worst of all was the league where he digresses to top 8 again against a boy who didnt even know how many pokemon are in a full team!!! I vowed to never watch pokemon again!!!

Finally comes X and Y..... It seems that the writers have realizied the mess they made out of BW and wanted to fix it... They decided to roll out the big guns... Ash is back with the sharpest animation yet... Battles are MINDBLOWING without stock animation and colored backgrounds... The pace is good with each character getting focus... And the girl knows Ash from way back pre series... And the cherry on the top is that she has a crush on him that the writers are pushing heavily.... This group of 4 feels like a family now and given the team the writers have in store for Ash i can say that Ash has a solid chance of winning the league this time... Overall its very refreshing seeing the anime take a step in the right direction...

I highly recommend it to all the the pokemon lovers out there... Make sure to watch the english subs as the dub removes all the good soundtracks!!!

  • Since the pokemon creater Satoshi everything fall apart

the pokemon have become worse and worse, less action, less feelings, its not the same, i could probably do a much better exciting story line than that, you guys are ruining what satoshi started shame on you all!

the heart beating action, is gone, try to look at the start of seasons and the last ones, see the difference there is a huge one, i could do it 1000 times better!

seriously stop ruin hes show just cuz he is dead, he gave us a huge enjoyment in our lifes, and u guys are killing it right now
  • My view of the series

My first encounter with Pokemon anime was at Diamond and Pearl, Back than I enjoyed the series and liked the characters and I was quite pleased with got in to Pokemon about a year ago,so I didn't watch it on TV) So after that I watched DP I began watching BW, I loved that saga as well especially Team Rocket. So then X and Y came out. I was really Hyped about X and Y because I was stunned by the my standards back then, i only watched PKMN, lol). But then I started watching other anime (Like DBZ for example) And I realised how much Pokemon lacked. Some examples:

When you watch an episode, big chances they aren't really doing anything.

The episodes aren't that have 3 types of episodes: Solve-a-problem-of-the-day-episode, a Battle, or a contest/some random other pkmn competition, were 90% of the episodes are the first category)

The characters aren't that smart, you might say that's because they are kids, but Clemont is on the level of a University student :] Oh and team rocket should be a lot smarter as well (Black and White!)

The episodes overall are just boring, I don't know why you shouldn't skip them unless they aren't important to the story(In other words,Filler)

    Oh and it's really repetitve.

The animation is still pretty good and the battles....... AMAZING, really they are. And the Music is awesome as well.

I Don't know if I should ask this much from a kids show but still, the majority of the Pokemon fans are people above 13 years old, so maybe they should split it, but I'm going a little of topic now.

Conclusion: Pokemon XY isn't great if you like fast paced and action packed tv shows because Pokemon is far from that, The battles, animation and music are great and so are the characters, but In my opinion, It's a little too Childish.
  • Pokemon: Black & White Sucked

Honestly up to the end of Diamond & Pearl i was hooked on the series but after that i just started getting sick of the same of story, ash travels to a new place, earns 8 badges then off to a league he once again loses just so they can keep the story going. Black & White i found really boring and not just because of the same old story, Ash started acting real childish, Cilan was real annoying, I haven't got much problems with Iris but i'm sure someone else does. Honestly i kinda liked the new Team Rocket, they had a reason to stay and there new serious style got me real excited but when they went back to there original dorky selves i just got sick of them and there no real reason for even being on the show anymore, not to mention there new voice actors (Mostly James) drove me nuts. Truthfully Black & White is the Worst Pokemon series to date but XY been okay as of now but i hope it gets more exciting instead of the same of song & dance.
  • I liked it when I was a child, but growing up, I recognize its many faults and the video games are WAY better :(

    Here's what's wrong:

    - Almost Nothing Happens

    - Filler Episodes Galore (ex. Why would I want to see an episode where they help out a beauty parlor owner?)

    - Highly Repetitive

    - Keeps Dragging On And On

    - Mediocre Animation

    - Nothing Makes Any Sense

    - Stupid, Idiotic Characters (especially the main character and the villains)

    - Way Too Kid-Friendly

There were a tiny bit of funny moments and some good fights. However, they weren't enough to save this anime. This is, more or so, just a commercial to promote the video games being the story is practically non-existent.

If I could, I would've incorporated social commentary into the anime and gave it a much more realistic tone.

This is my testimony on how Dr Molemen was able to cure my Heart Disease, i had Heart problem for 5years and i have tried all means to treatment myself but none was able to cure me permanently i even had a physic who was recommending drugs for me, one day while on Internet i saw a testifier who explained how she was been treated by Dr Molemen from Herpes, She advise we email Dr Molemen for any problem, immediately i sent a message to the Dr regarding my situation, after everything he told me he was going to send me a portion which i am to drink, well friends actually Dr Molemen sent me a liquid portion just as he had told me, i drank from it as he has instructed me, and for that week i started experiencing changes on me, friends i am glad to say that Dr Molemen has cured me totally from Heart Disease, Dr Molemen can cure any Disease or sickness if only you run to him with your problem, you can email Dr Molemen at: or call him on +2347036013351
  • It's really getting boring but it still makes itself watch

Pokemon is without doubt the best cartoon show for me. I grew up watching indiego season. So, pokemon world holds a great place inside me. I began watching it again when i'm 17 and I was fascinated because it was still great. The pokemon world inside me was awakening. I watched the first 5 season with great pleasure (espacially indiego, orange islands and master quest). But when misty went, i was really devastated. Because i was thinking pokemon world itself was growing with the characteristic development of charecters like Misty and Ash and it was getting mature with misty's romance. But with advanced generation's start, it returned to the beginning. I watched the 6. season but it was kinda boring. However when i say myself i should give up wathcing it, i just can't. There is something that still makes attracting the pokemon. And i think that's why people like me still watches pokemon. Because it's kinda escape from the real world and a childhood world that we never wanna leave. If it wasn't for that, who would want to watch a show whose protagonist never ages for years, and whose characters (like team rocket) says the same motto for years. And yes, i'm among those saying Ash should be 17 or older in the anime and i think there shouldn't be new pokemon. This makes the show much more boring and meaningless. And i think there should be an end season in which ash would win a league and defeat the elite four, and meets old friends like Misty and Brock.

Well, overall x and y is worth watching, espacially if you are bound to it like me. I actually just watched the first 6 season and planning to watch entire advanced generation. After that i think it's time to give up. Because the show seems endless and for this reason it's getting worthless.
  • Don't listen to ActionAdventure! This show is great!

My sister loves this show! :p
  • Has Become Atrocious, and is Beyond Overrated

It was at its best in the OS, for Kanto and OI specifically, though Johto had an excellent English dub: 10/10

It went slightly downhill when Misty left but was still good in AG: 9/10

It went completely downhill when TPCi took over and ruined the English dub from BF to XY: 1/10

I couldn't disagree more with most of what natsulian7 said, by the way.

There is no stunning animation in the XY Series: Ash's eyes still look goofy, he doesn't even f*cking look his age (he's 10 for life!), and it's very overdone and exaggerated.

There is zero character development in XY Series apart from Clemont: Ash is as static and bland as ever, Bonnie is annoying and has zero depth to her character whatsoever, Serena has done nothing for 30+ episodes now but be a shallow, vain b*tch, there are no interactions: when do Bonnie and Ash EVER interact? Serena and Clemont? Never.

Overall: 1/10 because I hate what it's become-- 4Kids dubbed it a lot better over TPCi's garbage, and the older Series are better-- you want a real Pokemon Anime, watch "The Origin" or the OS or AG Series, not this trash.

If I could give it a lower rating, I WOULD: this is a TERRIBLE show now-- I would not recommend what it has to become to ANYONE.
  • X and Y

What can I say? First off, the X and Y series has done many things Black and White tried to do but consequently failed correctly. The animation is fluid, colored backgrounds are no longer used but are replaced by the current setting, and overall, X and Y is by far the best animated series in the Pokemon Series so far. Character development is great with the correct amount of screening time for each character although the female protagonist Serena does need more honing than others.

    - Stunning animation

    - Stable character development

    - Character conversion; converting bland characters such as gym leaders, Diantha, and NPC's in the game into fluid, relatable, and stable characters

    - Character interactions

    - Brother and sister interactions

    - Malamar; one of the most intriguing Pokemon in the Series to date

    - Gym Battles; stunning animation but at the same time, shows off Ash's skills as a trainer

    - Character of the day; infectious characters built with the correct mindset

    - Plot structure; main antagonists are not needed to move the Saga forward but will prove an amazing asset if they do debut

    - Mega Acts I and II; animation is even more stunning with in-depth characters, antagonists, goals, and is an overall great side series

    - Too much screening time for some characters

    - Serena's little to no development

    - Pokemon catching rate; this is both a con and pro as it means more for Ash's and co's Pokemon but at the same lacks diversity and entertainment

    - Pokemon development; not as much as Black and White and Diamond and Pearl Sagas but too little, they seem more like props than characters

In the end, the good outweigh the bad and so far, this series proves one of the best in the Pokemon Series.

  • pokemon

    great cartoon ever
  • Still alive!

Back at the end of the 1990s a show was born.

    That became the anime Pokemon.

The show and movies is fresh after the end of the millennium.

Ash is a young trainer that are out to fetch Pokemon.

Now still other young trainers follows him.

From Viridian City to the beaches and forests.

You will root for the many different types of Pokemon.

The villains Jesse and James steals the show.

And a lot of Pokemon memes was born.

If you seek some old school animated action and adventure see this.

  • I still enjoy it!

I still watch Pokemon to this day, and I'm almost 20. I will admit, the first few seasons were amazing, the middle ones not so much. I definitely miss some of the older characters like misty, Gary, may, max, and now Brock. I think that ash's kalos journey has actually started off great, and I really really enjoyed it! Definitely already better than black and white. Besides a few things (like when ash says psyched which I swear nobody says). I know he has to keep stuff like his impulsiveness and other sometimes grudging traits, but hey that makes ash. Back to the whole show though. I thing its xy is more I guess dramatic. The animation is great, and they even brought a different version of the original theme song! Along with that we see many of the same Pokemon from previous seasons in the background. I find it awesome how they mixed the old with the new, its a change with some nostalgia.
