  • Not the most enjoyable of a battle, but still interesting.

Well I thought this was just too easy for Tobias. He seemed as though he was going to bring out six legendaries if the situation called for it. It just didn't seem very fair to me.

And Ash's Pokemon - which are all strong to some extent - were obliterated. It was just not that fun to see.

What I liked were the Hoenn connection in Ash's Pokemon - loved seeing Torkoal and especially Sceptile back there! Not to mention Swellow!

But this was just a disappointing ending to the Sinnoh League. It was not fun.moreless
  • Some terrible choices of Pokemon for Ash to choose, Torkoal beaten in one move, Darkrai knew Ice beam and Ash puts in a Gible who has a 4x weakness to Ice attacks. Sceptile put up a great fight and was able to beat Darkrai and Pikachu's battle was awesomemoreless

I don't know why he didn't put in the likes of his powerful Pokemon like Infernape, as it never states that he was to injured to fight or Snorlax. I would of rated this a Five if it wasn't for Pikachu's battle against Latios, it just showed how awesome Pikachu is. Pretty annoying though that Pikachu could draw with a Latios but be unable to beat a Meowth in boots. Still a top 4 win spot for Ash the furthest he has ever gotten, but I think it is at the stage where either he wins one whether it's the Unova region or competing in one of the others like Indigo. Maybe they should consider letting Ash complete his goal and becoming the champion before starting another region at the end of Unova because it is putting the older generation of Pokemon fans off. Have him complete his goal and introduce a brand new main character in a new region and have Ash seen as a role model and to make guest appearances along with Brock and the others.moreless
  • After the epicness that was Ash vs. Paul, this is a major disappointment.

I wanna know the story behind Takuto. How did he get an entire arsenal of legendaries? You know what, forget it! It's obvious this guy is here for the soul purpose of making sure Ash loses the tournament like he always does so he has a reason to join the next one!

What really disappoints me is that I heard a rumor stating that Ash and crew were finally being replaced as was the repetitive storyline/formula, but oh no, they just had to randomly throw this guy in there. The battle between and Paul was awesome. It was truly the best battle in the series and was so epic. And then we get this: a completely one-sided battle that Ash had no hope of winning. That is BS! Here's a message to the writers even though they will never see it:

    a) Let Ash win so you have an excuse to replace him

    b) Change the plot!

The show went from great to average because of this, and I'm surprised that I still like the show to an extent. BTW, am I the only one who noticed that after Johto, Ash pretty much gave up on good strategy in favor of just shouting out attack names?

Anyway, this was a major let-down after such a great battle, but it was still enjoyable so it passes.moreless
