  • Pikachu! Where are you?!

    8.7
In the second episode in the Diamond and Pearl season, Ash is on the search for his first Pokémon and best friend, Pikachu. Right in the beginning of the episode, the new protagonist, Dawn, comes face to face with it.

At first she believes that the Pikachu is wild, and she tries capturing it, but is unable to, because it is already owned by a trainer. After not being able to capture it, Team Rocket arrives, saying that the Pikachu is their's.

By the look of the Pikachu's face, Dawn can tell that it does not belong to Team Rocket. Dawn fights Team Rocket's Pokémon, and manages to run away with Pikachu to a Pokémon Center.

Ash is seen arriving in Shinnoh, where he meets up with Brock. The two of them go to Professor Rowan, and pick up Aipom's PokéBall (like Oak instructed Ash to).

Rowan reports that one of his trainers came along with a Pikachu, and was trying to find one its owner. Obviously, Ash knows that this has to be his Pikachu.

Brock and Ash continue out on the road, heading towards Jublife City, trying to find Pikachu. During their walk, Ash comes along a Starly, and successfully captures it.

At the end of the episode, Dawn and Ash meet face-to-face. Dawn attempts to give Pikachu to Ash, but Team Rocket arrives out of no where, and steals him. The episode ends there.

This episode was action-packed, and really interesting. I have a good feeling that this will be the best Pokémon season since the first one.moreless
  • Dawn starts on her journey with Piplup. Ash still look for Pikachu, while Dawn finds him and tries to return to his owner. Ash also reunites with Brock and captures a Starly. Meanwhile Team Rocket tries to steal Pikachu...Again!moreless

Really great episode. I didn't get to see this on the first time it aired because of ceratain reasons. But once I saw it on YouTube it seemed so cool. I found out what happened to Pikachu, and that Dawn found it, P.S.(real smart move with the Burmy.) And Team Rocket will never stop giving up stealing Pikachu, and that's what makes them funny. Once more Brock returns and he got new clothes (personally, I think his Hoenn ones were better.) Ash caught a Starly which he always does with the region bird Pokemon. That shady character Paul makes an apperrence at the end, which makes him the new rival (kinda came in early in the Region saga compared with the other rivals except Gary.moreless
  • Love this girl Dawn. She's almost as cool as Misty.

    9.3
I just love this new girl, Dawn. I also love how she made the choice for Piplup, the water pokemon starter. It seems that she has great character, is optimistic, and wants to become a cooridnator and has a great fashion sense. Piplup also seems cool( I cannot wait to see when Dawn's Piplup evolves into an Emporeum). I like her a lot better than May, and almost as much as Misty. And I love her Japenese name to, Hikari. Like Hikari from Utada Hikaru. So alltogether I thought this was one of the best episodes ever and a great(almost perfect) way to start off Diamond and Pearl. Great beggining, hope they can follow it up.moreless
