Police Rescue is a unique blend of character driven drama and fast paced action adventure. • This is a fantastic Australian Drama about a Police Rescue squad and the situations they deal with every day - based on the real Sydney Rescue squad. A fantastic drama series for it's time, with a lot of non-stop action and dramatic storylines!moreless

What can I say about this show - other than I really, really love it!!! This show is based on the real-life Sydney Police Rescue squad, but obviously adapted and dramatised for television audiences.

I was addicted to it with the first episode that I saw with such a fantastic cast or the energetic Gary Sweet as 'adrenelin seeking Sergant McClintock' and Sonia Todd as the defiant and very capable Georgia Rattray, along with actor Steve Bastoni as the young 'Angel'. The action with the rescues that the squad undertake from abseiling off buildings (my personal favourite!), to searching for lost people, vehicle accidents, and body retrievals. All these are part of the job, and is very well implemented as a focus on the various characters ways of dealing with the trama that they encounter everyday. There is also the usual drama storylines including the personal relationships of the members of the squad which make you wonder "what's going to happen next?". A very well created show of which I am a huge fan, and although this show was created in the early 1990s, to this day I still love every single episode!moreless
  • Why isn't this on DVD?

    8.0
What a terrific show! This was the first Australian TV series I had watched and I loved what I had seen. I've only viewed a few episodes, but that was enough to hook me. Now I'm waiting eagerly for a DVD release.

The show was about a team of police officers who specialize in rescues. The episodes were well written and executed. I really enjoyed the show very much.

Anyone who liked Emergency! and/or shows of that ilk would like this series.

I just can't believe it's not on DVD. Water Rats is and I think Police Rescue is a much better show.moreless
  • A pretty good cop show.

    7.9
A pretty good cop show. If this is a show that you do not normally watch and you are sitting at home with nothing to do, you are going to wish you had it on tape. Having it "on tape" had become the generic term for recorded programs. Today you are more likely to have the show on Tivo or DVR than VHS, or god forbid Beta!! It is kind of like how a lot of people still call CD's "records" or "albums." Anyway, back to the show. This is the type of show that is really pretty good if you would just give it a chance. So on those cold, lonely, rainy days, pop in your tape or DVR or whatever if you were smart enough to tape it. If not, check to see if it is on as a re-run. After all, as they say, if you have never seen it, it is new to you.moreless
  • Great cast of Australian Actors

    9.0
I used to love this show. I was quite young when it was on TV but I would sit with my mum and dad and watch it every week.

Mickey, Georgia, Angel, Nipper and well most of the characters were excellent. I loved the Mickey and Georgia relationship throughout the series.

This show also had a great cast of Australian actors, many of whom are still seen on Australia TV shows every week.

It was always action packed with excellent storylines every week.moreless
