Show Summary

Police Under Fire is a crime documentary that originally aired on June 9, 2010 on Seven Network, a private television network in Australia. The 30-minute episodes appear weekly at 8:30 pm during the television season. Each episode covers a specific high-profile case in which suspects fired on police officers. The series combines footage of the incident with interviews of witnesses and family members. The series opener deals with the case of Pavel Marinof, a professional burglar and gun enthusiast. Marinof is pulled over by patrol officers Sgt Brian Stooke and Senior Constable Peter Steele on June 19, 1985. A search of his vehicle uncovers burglary tools. Marinof draws a conceal firearm and shoots both officers. A car chase ensues during which Marinof shoots several officers and eludes capture. Receiving a tip on his location, Detectives John Kapetanovski and Rod MacDonald pull Marinof over on a highway. They attempt to place Marinof under arrest, bringing Marinof's rampage to a dramatic conclusion.
