  • But by season 1 standards, even a "filler" episode like this is pretty good.

Pepper goes under as a highschool sex-ed teacher to bust a drug ring that incorporated Captain Kirk (you may remember Billy Shatner) into its web of evil.

    Ha ha.

I found John Newland to be a rather mediocre director (no wonder he later guided much of season 4) and some of the scenes with the "cool" kids in school are typically laughable, espcially when the wealthy, baby-faced campus pusher informs Investigator Styles that he needed the drug money to finance his campaign in the highschool election

(!?!) Apparently, markers and poster-board were in short supply in Southern California circa 1974.

However, this installment DOES offer a pivotal (yet-non-acting, Lord knows) cameo role by rock legend Smokey Robinson (love that 'fro!), and, best of all, the great, ominous music score by Richard Shores which the series would use almost constantly throughout the remainder of season 1.
