  • Pepper's best romance episode

    9.6
This was likely Pepper's best romantic story of the whole series.

An old beau, a test-pilot (Frank Converse), now a widower, comes to L.A. on a job--- but it becomes evident he's really come back for Pepper after a dozen years.

Quietly poignant and sincere--- the only (fairly minor) flaw is the secondary crime plot, about a trio of country-n-western-all-git-up gas station robbers, which is paper thin to the point of being a tad silly.

Otherwise, a good show, with the LYRICS now put to the theme-song, "Leave Me Tomorrow" (which were Emmy-nominated for this episode!)

And, oh!, how this episode feels like, quite specifically, '76/'77...
