  • This is the episode where the show picks up from the slack of ridiculous slapstick comedy from the few final episodes of season 1 and I'm glad to say the show is back... at least, for now!moreless

I found the season finale of 1 an embarrassment to the show and the entire aspect it was supposed to carry. I thought the show has a terrific way of portraying a lollipop high school hell in a tongue-in-cheek comedic way, but after some time in season 1 it lost its way and ultimately shamed itself completely by the season finale. This, I hope, is the start of the show reviving itself to the previous episodes.

I'm glad Josh and Brooke are back together and seeing how Josh is putting his all into the relationship and she isn't put in anything. To be honest, I always looked at their relationship as an example of the essence in the show. Sure, there are a few jokes every now and again but you can also see distraught and tears in their relationship as well.

This season also brung back Carmen's dream of cheerleading. I was SO glad to see her trying out again. Next to the fact that episode 12 was a filler, I hated how after the ending of episode 10 they just let Carmen throw in her pom-poms because she was too weak to pick and choose. Now finally, we can concentrate on Carmen and her dream again and rear her away from the out-of-wack stories she's been getting last season.

This episode did a fair job at reviving the blonde and brunette roots of the "Clueless" world in full effect. But I just couldn't feel the show being completely back. It was there but it wasn't THERE. Not fully. But after completely destroying the show last season, it would be impossible to bring it back through one episode. Procedures like this take time to build back up but I'm just glad the season premiere didn't spend it's time on fake ass murder mysteries.moreless

    • Brooke: Sam, try to understand what it's like to spend most of your life without your mom. I did, and now that I have her back thus I'm not gonna lose her.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Carmen's pregnancy was apparently cut from the show. This was one of the plotlines Ryan Murphy said he would explore in season two, along with a romance between Harrison and Mary Cherry, and siamese twins. The cut order was given by the WB just a week before this episode aired, forcing Ryan to re-write the episode and eliminate this story completely from the show.

    • Diane Delano is added in the opening credits after recurring during the first season.
