Show Summary

Popworld was initially broadcasted in January 2001, and was hosted by Miquita Oliver and Simon Amstell. This UK television program was on air for six years. The plot of the show was to offer news in the world of pop. Popworld usually consisted of pop news, trivia, interviews, gossip as well as music videos and musical performances of new pop artists. From 2006, Alex Zane and Alexa Chung became the presenters of the show. The presenters were able to keep up the spice of the show by introducing unusual tactics from time to time. Popworld was also used as the medium for bringing out unsigned bands. The show was founded by the legendary pop star, Simon Fuller, in 2000, and the program was intended for the audiences. The initial hosts, Amstell and Oliver, were known for their surreal humor and for their references to the Jewish culture in UK. The program was canceled in July 2007.
