  • The Innocent Killer gets a Pardon

Monopoly game foreshadows the events of the episode - the aim of the plot being to get a "get out of jail free" card for Blanco - with both sides pushing/cheating each other to a stalemate until an intervention breaks the deadlock. In the opening it is Lukewarm wanting to ready Blanco for his parole board while later it is Barraclough (setup to know this by Fletch) pointing out the ability for Governor to get a pardon for an inmate.

The rest is about Blanco refusing Parole and the other inmates then campaigning for his pardon in the belief that he is innocent. This while Fletcher masterminds his own nefarious scheme to bring about the granting of a Pardon for Blanco.

The glorious twist comes at the end when Blanco is about to leave: Fletch warns him not to seek revenge against the wife's lover (who did for her according to Blanco) and is told he won't because the man is already dead. Then confesses to a gob-smacked Fletch that he 's sure the man is dead because he killed him.

This makes this one of the best plotted episodes and it is superbly rendered by all the cast involved.moreless
