In the Farm episode of Portlandia, Fred and Carrie eat lunch at a restaurant and decide to visit the farm where the chicken they are eating was raised. The kindly farmer that they meet turns out to be a cult leader who quickly brainwashes them.

I was curious about this show when it was first announced, curious enough to tune into the pilot. The result is...interesting. I think this show would have worked better if it was an actual sitcom about two people moving from LA to Portland and not a collection of random sketches, but some of the stuff was really funny. Think of this as a live-action version of Robot Chicken, but a lot slower moving.

Armisen is not a lead though. Carrie Brownstein is pretty funny, I'll admit that, but not enough to carry a show as a female lead either.

Portlandia could very well take off, but if this is the best they have this program is in trouble.moreless
