Episode Summary

EDIT
Adam coaches the Angel Grove High soccer team, of which the star player, Carlos, is in dire need of lessons in teamwork. Both he, and the head cheerleader, Ashley, are strangely targeted by Divatox in an attack. Her detonator plot for this episode involves using Carlos' eagerness to score points over working with his team, by planting a bomb in the scoreboard. Also, Elgar joins forces with the Electrovolt monster in a shocking motorcycle battle against the Turbo Rangers. Meanwhile, the Bulk & Skull Chimps dress up as cheerleaders in an attempt to prove they're really humans.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • When Justin puts his arm in the scoreboard on the outside his elbow is in but on the inside its not.

      • When the bulk chimp flips forwards and backwards, all of it is re-winded and played, then re-winded and played. You can tell because the people at the back, are walking forward, then they step backwards and this happens several time as the scene is replayed over and over.

      • The mini-periscope pops up from the hotdog cart, but in the submarine Elgar and Divatox are not looking through the periscope.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Divatox: As usual, the Pirahnatrons did nothing but flounder around.
Elgar: What do you expect, they work for scale. Ha Ha, fishes....scales. Get it?
        Divatox: Ooohhhh.

      • Ashley: You didn't have to walk me home. I can take care of myself too.
Carlos: I know, I just needed some excuse to talk to you.

      • Adam: What happened to teamwork?
Carlos: That was teamwork. I was working to help the team win.

    • NOTES (2)

      • This episode marks the last time the Millennium Message is directly and completely referenced onscreen. It would have ended up getting one more mention in an unfilmed script for the original season finale, "Rangers in Concert". See the notes for "Honey, I Shrunk the Rangers (1)" for more info.

      • This episode features the debut and introduction of Ashley and Carlos, a pair of Angel Grove High School students who will become major characters in a short while. According to early scripts, Ashley was originally named Missy, and Carlos was originally given the last name of Chavez.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Elgar: What happened? Is Ed McMahon here with a giant check?
Reference to Ed McMahon and him being the presenter for Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes, which typically give out giant checks that McMahon presents.
