Episode Summary

EDIT

The 5 Fingers of Poisons (lizardlike Gakko, cobraesque Naja, centipedish Rantipede, scorpionic Stingerella, and froggy Toady) are brought forth by Dai Shi, who doubly stuns the Rangers by finally revealing his human form to be the familiar face of Jarrod. Lily, shaken to the point of nightmares after Casey is poisoned, puts it upon herself to take on the first of the Poisons, Rantipede.

  • Revealing, to the Rangers at least, that they see Jarrod is now Dai Shi. Nice episode overall, minus the motorcycle.

    7.5
It's nice to see some an outstanding series in the making in comparison with the 2 past seasons (hope the next episodes won't disappoint me, though). The Red Ranger gets beaten on his first battle against Dai Shi, some sort of plot to immediately get him an upgrade, huh? Was that a Battlizer along with the Strike Rider, or just some vest for driving it? The motorcycle power-up, though arguably unnecessary (there goes footage for additional toys again) must be a given from the Morphing Grid. In the Zord Battle, I think I'm getting used to Flit's voice, because it's no longer that annoying like the first time I heard it. "A Taste of Poison" continues the mess at the Jungle Pizza Karma (there's got to be a reason why it has Karma on it). Last episode were the small kids at the store, and this time, on the kitchen with the big kids. I hope we get some other un-morphed scenes next time.

But despite all that, I enjoyed the 4th installment of the series, and I'm looking forward to the next one!moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • It's a little odd that Casey, who has been poisoned, went from a "cold sweat" sick in one scene to full health the next, yet no one comments on his fast recovery.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Casey: (about the Five Fingers of Poison) I liked it better when we were just fighting one at a time.
      Theo: I feel you there.

    • Camille: (About the Strike Rider) Nice bike. Almost hate to destroy it.
      Casey: Just try it!

    • Casey: Sometimes I just can't believe my life; Shredding cheese one minute, and shredding evil beasts the next!

    • Flit: Rantipede has pulled out all the stops! From one bug to another, I'm impressed.

    • Rantipede: A hundred legs to strike you -- Rantipede!
Naja: Fangs full of venom -- Naja!
Stingerella: Queen of the toxic dance -- Stingerella!
Gakko: Master of trickery and deceit -- Gakko!
Toady: Skin stronger than armor -- Toady!

    • Stingerella: Ah, so these are the Pai Zhua students. I'm so not impressed.
Gakko: They look pretty sorry to me.
      Toady: And ugly.
Rantipede: Yes. Let's get this fight started.

    • Fran: I bet Wolfgang Puck never had to put up with stuff like this.

    • Dai Shi: The one you call Jarrod is gone. I am now filled with the evil of Dai Shi.
Casey: Great. Who was bad enough when you were just a jerk who got kicked out of our school.
Dai Shi: And you were responsible for that humiliation. Now you will pay.

    • R.J.: Freaky that Jarrod turned out to be Dai Shi. But standing up to him took a lot of guts.
Theo: Or not a lot of brain cells.
R.J.: Theo, I'm ignoring your negative energy.

    • R.J.: Casey, I'm working on something new for you that you're just gonna love. You just power it with your tiger spirit, it'll blow your mind.
      Lily: Is it dangerous?
Theo: Casey already has one mommy. He doesn't need two.
Casey: You don't hear me complaining.

    • Rantipede: Yellow Ranger? You're not the one I wanted to fight.
Lily: What's the matter? Afraid of being beaten by a girl?
Rantipede: I suppose any Ranger will do.

    • Dai Shi: Camille! If you ever want me to trust you again, you better stop that hundred-legged fool. He's decided to take matters into his own hands.
      Camille: Rantipede? That rat.

    • Casey: Well, I'm flattered that you put yourself out there for me.
      Lily: Flattered?
Casey: Yeah. It's obvious you have a little thing for me.
Lily: Casey! You're a great guy, but, you're like a little brother to me. That's why I worry so much.
      Casey: Little brother?
Lily: Yes. And that's all. Is that cool?
Casey: Yeah, it's cool. Than that means I'm gonna have to start treating you like I do my sisters.
(he throws soap bubbles at Lily)
