Episode Summary

The Knight Wolf Koragg defeats Udonna in a giant battle, and removes her ability to morph. This means the four teens will not have the luxury of time to train, and must become Mystic Force Rangers immediately to take on him and his Hidiacs. But with the easily disillusioned but brave Nick still not feeling the magic within him, the team lacks a Red Ranger!

  • Mystic Force will NEVER be as good as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Get over it!

So it is to be continued from Part 1. Since nothing else is on, I will watch this season premiere! Well, I was not at all surprised. It would have been better if they all died and were brought back to die again, because the rangers are geeks, especially the Yellow one. And the Pink ranger was too busy saying she hated pink. Who cares, Lady?! A horde of ravenous demons are destroying the planet, and you are concerned about your outfit color? Jason and Tommy would have never done that. And that one witch apprentice that turned herself into an emu or whatever that was is stupid. When Bulk and Skull are stupid, it is funny. But when someone else acts stupid, you just want to yell at them. The morphing sequence is the only reason it got a 2. The Zords are pathetic, the Thunder Megazord could take them down. If any of the former Power Ranger actors watched this episode, they probably cried.moreless
  • Bye-bye white ranger!

This episode picks up where the last one left off. Koragg and Udonna fight in giant battle, however Koragg wins and steals her snow-staff. The burst of power causes it to snow and Clare rushes back. The rangers don't have the luxury of training and are forced to fight immediately. They take on a fleet of styxoids and manage to win with help from Nick. Meanwhile, Udonna invisibly appears to Nick and advises him about his life and his future. He takes on the pressurized mantle of Red Ranger and decides to stay in Briarwood, This episode gets a good rating as the 2nd part of the season opener. Also, Nick gets a job at Rockporium!moreless
  • When morticon sends Korrag attacks, Xander, Chip, Vida, and Madison jump into action as the Power Rangers Mystic Force. But it is Nick who must learn to believe in himself and magical powers, to then become the Red Mystic Force Ranger.moreless

the whole episode was all leading up to nick coming and becoming the red ranger. I have just one question, if Nick wasn\\\'t going to become apart of the team way would they have introduce him to the show? i can understand trying to make the first few episodes exiting but the whole episode was just show that they do have everything they had in mighty morphin. besides that the episode was interesting they did a great job of contining the first episode. but this is a very orginal episode. my final statment is that they could have made it execiting but other than that it was a great second episodemoreless
  • Was a good episode all and all not my favorite but was good none the less

This episode a very nice conculsion to the first one. Nick some how finds that he needs to help the others no matter what if he believed or not in magic. Nicely done. Not as good as the episode one but good none the less. The episode went in many directions so it was a little hard to grasp but I like the part when Madison and Nick were talking it was a nice scene.

Also the first part of it was great. Koragg the Night Wolf takes away the snow staff and defeats the White Ranger (Udonna). Makes you wonder. "Have I seen you before Wizard you are too famaliar." Udonna remarks when they are battling. Makes you wonder about the Night Wolf doesn't it? How would she know him. That really got me to stay with the show. After finding questions un answered and the perfect cast for rangers there was no doubt about watching the next episode.moreless
  • Not the best season opener but great none the less This review counts for both parts BTW

Great line by Madison: "I hope everyday is not gonna be like this."

I almost mistook Udonna's black clock for a Nazgul

Clare seems to be a female version of Boom, nothing new there, very baaaaaad introduction,

Both Morphed and Unmorphed fights were great.

Xander trying to reason with the enemy was stupid yet classic,

Vida is great as the "anti-pink" ranger very clever indeed.

The Rangers broke one of the rules of the ranger code at the end of the episode: "Never use your powers for personal gain"moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • After Udonna loses her giant battle, Koragg takes her magic wand/Mystic Staff as a trophy and takes it to the Underworld. But when Udonna confronts Nick outside the Rock Emporium she uses the magic wand (that she shouldn't have) to start Nick's motorcycle.

    • When Udonna grows, her White Ranger suit has higher shoulder pads than it did when she was smaller.

    • Despite the fact that the massive battle between Koragg and Udonna is Zord sized and they couldn't have been more than a quarter mile away, Clare and Nick do not notice any of it. Impossibly hard to believe given all the explosions.

  • QUOTES (13)

  • NOTES (11)

    • This is the second and final time Udonna's morphing sequence is shown.

    • First appearance of Leelee Pimvare, a new girl in town with a thing for Nick and a secret that'll be revealed in "Stranger Within (2)".

    • Koragg's giant beast stallion is not specifically named in this episode (though its name is mentioned as part of his spell), it'll later be called "Legendary Catastros" in the episode of the same name. Koragg combines with it into Centaur mode via the spell Sombor Udethos Equestras.

    • Udonna finding Koragg familiar, and vice versa, is a hint at his true identity, which will be revealed in "Heir Apparent (1)".

    • First time in the show's history a same-titled multiparter has had a part number on its singular airings, but lacked the word "part" (or even "pt.").

    • The Rangers morph by converting their Mystic Morphers to wand mode, pressing 1, 2, and 3 (Galwit Mysto Ranger) and saying "Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

    • The Mystic Force Rangers morph in the same order that the MMPR morphed (with Green in place of Black): Green, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Red.

    • This is the only time Udonna grows to Zord size. She is the first Ranger to grow giant since (barring hero but not quite Ranger Mike into Magna Defender in PRLG) the Zeo Rangers in PRZ's "Good as Gold".

    • Udonna loses her Snow Staff in this episode to Koragg, and as thus, can no longer morph to White Mystic Ranger. She'll partially harness the power in "The Gatekeeper (2)", and regain her Staff in "Light Source (2)".

    • The main five Mystic Force Rangers morph for the first time in this episode. Thus, this is the debut of the Mystic Morphers (which first appeared last episode in original wooden wand form), which are cellphones similar in design to those of the Growl Phones of PRWF.

    • Debuted on Toon Disney, on its regular day, but at a SPECIAL TIME of 7:30pm E&P. ABC Family debut date: February 25th, 2006 at a SPECIAL TIME of 10:30am E&P
