Episode Summary

EDIT

Justin's father gets an offer for a better job in another town, which leaves the young boy with two options: be parted with his dad again, or give up being a Ranger. Meanwhile, Divatox unleashes the Goldgoyle monster upon the Turbo Rangers, who proves to be more powerful than any of their Megazords! On top of all of that, the Power Chamber receives a distress call from Zordon, telling them Eltar is under attack!

  • A Great start to the end of the season

This episode was very exciting to watch. The battle with Goldgoyle was intesne. He just tore the Megazords apart! I was surprised at how bad the damage was and how despearte they were to win against this insane monster. I wish the battle was longer because that was one insane battle! I was also glad to see Zordon return, even for a minute. Plus, Dimitria left! I don't hate her but don't really like her so I'm glad she is gone. Another good thing about this episode was it such a good ending! It has you wanting to see the second part right away!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Since when is the location of the Power Chamber a secret? Rita & Zedd always knew where the Command Center was, and when it became the Power Chamber in PRZ, the Machine Empire attacked it several times. Did none of the other villains tell her about its location? Even so, making it such a big deal in this episode seems a little odd.

    • When the Rescue Megazord was self-destructed there was no wreckage anywhere on site. Yet when the Turbo Megazord is destroyed there's plenty of Zord wreckage.

    • When Elgar and Rygog discover the Power Chamber, what were they doing in the middle of nowhere, anyways?

    • During the scenes in which the Rescue Megazord is being blasted, the Artillery Weapons on the megazord repeatedly disappear and reappear.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Goldgoyle: I am Goldgoyle, and you are about to be destroyed, Power Rangers!
Ashley: A little overconfident, don't you think?
      Carlos: yeah, and oversized, too!

  • NOTES (9)

    • Justin mentions his friend Nico, from "Trouble by the Slice" through "Disappearing Act".

    • Divatox's flying car, introduced in "Fire in Your Tank", appears here for the last time.

    • This episode features the destruction of the Turbo and Rescue Megazords (and all components), as well as the Turbo RAM (though the Turbo Lightning Sword will somehow survive and pop up in PRWF's "Forever Red"). This is also the final appearance of Artillatron. Oh, and this is the first time since "Ninja Quest (1)" that a Megazord has been completely destroyed onscreen.

    • This marks the first appearance of NASADA, the fictional space agency, its commander General Norquist, and its special space shuttle.

    • This episode features the final appearance of Dimitria (though Divatox will later be seen wearing her costume in "Countdown to Destruction (2)"). The Blue Senturion will next be seen in "Countdown To Destruction (1)". Zordon will appear next in "From Out of Nowhere (1)", nonspeaking.

    • Porto speaks for the final time, due to voice-actor and co-producer Scott Page-Pagter moving to Ireland to assist in making Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog around this time.

    • Jerome Stone (Gregg Bullock) departs the show with this episode, though will still be credited in the next episode, and is never given a proper write-out. He seemingly "takes with him" the Angel Grove Youth Center/Juice Bar, which has been a staple of the show since it began.

    • Carol Hoyt departs the show completely, with this episode. Dimitria is never seen nor mentioned again after the next episode, but Divatox will be shown wearing her attire in "Countdown To Destruction (2)."

    • Bulk (Paul Schrier) and Skull (Jason Narvy) depart the show with this episode, though will remain credited until they return with next season's "Save Our Ship".
