Episode Summary

EDIT
Chip's big mouth lets slip the secret Daggeron asked him to keep. This leaves Daggeron and Udonna no choice but to finally tell the Rangers, in detail, the full story of the Great War... including revealing to them the stories of the sorcereress' husband, Leanbow, and long-lost son, Bowen. Meanwhile, Imperious realizes the best way to usurp the Master is get rid of Koragg. Thus, he sets in motion a plan to rid the Rangers of their Legendary Warrior powers, by bringing them down to the Underworld. • The evil is falling apart!

    10
The rangers learn the story of the original knights' victory, Clare's mother's death, and Calindor's betrayel. This coincidentally occurs just as Koragg decides to steal the rangers' legend power. Also, Imperious conceives a plot to steal Daggeron's powers once and for all! The battle takes an unexpected turn when a hydra monster is unleashed to help Koragg and drag the Power Rangers to the Underworld to steal their powers. Udonna is also captured and just as she's about to die, Koragg jumps in to save her. She pulls out one last trick and transports them all from the Underworld, but Koragg's behavior remains curious. This episode was informative, well-written, and exciting. It also begins the confirmation of my suspicions about Koragg.moreless
  • The whole story revealed.

    9.5
This was a great episode, we finally get the whole story about the great battle instead of just tiny little tidbit flashbacks of it from various characters. I must say that the great battle story was awesome. It was cool to finally have Daggeron and Imperious have a "real" battle this time. One thing that bugs me is that they make it look like Daggeron is killed but you can clearly see Jenji protecting him at the last second. The biggest surprise is that we it is finally revealed that Koragg is actually Udonna's husband Leanbow. All the actions leaves you really excited for part 2!moreless
  • this episode was very revealing as the solaris knight was destroyed by imperious and chimera koraggs leinbow leelee is necrolais daughter the rangers dont have legend mode and udonna doesnt have magic so i think the season will get interesting from heremoreless

    9.5
i think this episode was a very big turning point for the plot of this season. now koraggs revealed to be leinbow leelee is revealed to be necrolais daughter the rangers lost their legend mode as well as udonna losing her magic (supposedly) i think from here on out it is a downward slide until the series finale well it is once koragg joins the rangers and imperious is destroyed
  • If the second is better as this I\'ll nominate it for what should be the last episode.

    9.2
I have only seen one scene in Magiranger , but I\'m not going to talk about that till later, since I save my complaints for last.

This is such a great episode.

    Fight Scenes: AMAZING

Nick v.s. Daggeron the scene is awesome really shows how Nick has improved. Still don\'t get why Imperius Zord was so small than it usally was.( Maybe to test Korrag\'s so called \"honor\".)

    Acting Performence: Moderate

Whoever plays Uddona(spelled right?) lacks skill. She\'s always seems in the same mood. While her scene similar to that of Return of the Jedi her pain was like Padame at the end of Episode III. (Not of MF but Star Wars that it interprets soclosely.) Korrag has no face for most of the episode but his grunts and gasps make up for it. The Rangers... same as always.

Plot into and out of Magiranger

Probably one of the best of the ENTIRE PR series. Though the only scene in Magiranger was shown here it felt over used to me. \"Oh my god! The secondary antoganist is the main portaganist father!\" While Magiranger did it with something more japanesse, some call it leniet. This was one of the greatest but least original episode of PR.

Anyway go watch this episode if your into unoriginality or PR at allmoreless
  • Ties the little clues together. Makes seeing part 2 even more necessary. Very well written.

    10
It\'s a great episode, testing you with the clues they\'ve given over the season along with the other clues within the episode until the end when one major question is answered. For those who didn\'t see it yet, I won\'t spoil it, see it and find out for yourself. For those who thought re-interating the whole Imperius once being an ally, it was to keep the order of the story being told and letting those who may have missed the first episode that introduced the Solaris Knight who Imperius once was. It was great and I look forward to part 2.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • During the flashback of the great battle, after Niella sealed the gate, Udonna doesn't shout out her name like she did in the original version of the flashback seen in "The Gatekeeper (1)".

    • Why would Chip ask about Calindor being the enemy when Udonna clearly said he was an old friend in "Long Ago?"

    • Why did Imperious only grow to equal Megazord size when fighting the Solar Streak Megazord? He could have easily grown twice its side and beat him quicker, as seen in "Scaredy Cat".

    • Imperious claims he's taken away Daggeron's "Megazord power", yet, unlike the Rangers' Zords, the Solar Streak Megazord is not made of a combination of Solaris Knight and the train. He'd have to just plain take the Zord away from him, no power transfer involved.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Daggeron: Sorry, young warrior. Next time I'll take it easy on you.
      Nick: Don't even think about.

    • Chip: I thought Calindor was your enemy.
Udonna: He was. He was also a dear friend, which made his betrayal cut all the deeper.

    • Vida: Leelee? They got you too?
Xander: Don't worry. We'll get you out of this disgusting place.
Leelee: Thank you. I hate it here. It's dark and damp. Not to mention getting turned into an insect at everyone's slightest whim.
      Necrolai: Complaining again, daughter?
      Chip: Daughter?
Leelee: Can we keep them here, mom? Can we, huh? They have things that zombies down here will never have, like souls.

    • Daggeron: Now Nick is going to be beat -- I mean, taught by the best.
Nick: I see that humility doesn't set in when one reaches, uh, middle age.
      Daggeron: Middle age?

    • Imperious: Welcome to the dimension of wandering souls.
Daggeron: With a name like that, how could I stay away?

  • NOTES (10)

    • Chimera is made up of its normal face, a female chameleon-like face, and a bull-like face, a vampire bat-like face on top of his normal head, a lobster's face on its neck, a lion-like face on its chest, a moustached-crocodile head for a right arm, the left arm of the monster Udonna destroyed in "Broken Spell (1)", the feathers of Screamer, and the feet of Clawbster.

    • Second time a "Megazord power" has been stolen (the first being in "Whispering Voices".)

    • It's revealed Daggeron is the hooded character from Nick's flashback in "Whispering Voices".

    • The Rangers are brought into the Underworld Pit for the first time (though this is Udonna's second time there, after "The Gatekeeper" two-parter, it's her first time in the actual central chamber).

    • Leelee's connection to Necrolai (first revealed in "Stranger Within (2)") is finally revealed to the Rangers.

    • The strange alien-like form that Daggeron and Calindor sometimes take (as seen in "Long Ago" and here), are finally called "Ancient Mystic Mode."

    • Udonna's husband, Leanbow, has his face revealed in flashbacks for the first time. Similarly, he's also revealed to be Koragg, and thus appears out of flashback for the first time.

    • Vida has red highlights in her hair this episode.

    • The episode includes the flashbacks from "Broken Spell (1)", "Whispering Voices", "The Gatekeeper" (both parts), "Long Ago", and "Ranger Down", with plenty of new connecting material.

    • Debuted on Toon Disney, on a SPECIAL day and time of SATURDAY night at 6:30pm E&P, as part of the JETIX Kids Cup Soccer themed marathon. ABC Family debut date: SUNDAY, July 30 at 10:30am E&P.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • The Master torturing Udonna and Koragg's reaction
The scene at the end of the episode - with the Master torturing Udonna with evil lightning and Koragg's reaction (jumping in to save Udonna) seems to be VERY remiscent of the scene at the end of "Return of the Jedi," when Palpatine similarly tortures Luke and Darth Vader jumps in. Some of the camerawork is even the same (most notably the way the camera concentrates on Koragg's helmet as he looks at Udonna and agonizes over whether or not to intervene)
