Episode Summary

EDIT
The Rangers must come to terms with the revelation that their most ardent foe, Koragg, is actually Udonna's noble warrior husband, Leanbow. They won't have long to do so, as the Master of the Underworld is finally rising, and in doing so, reverts Leanbow to the Knight Wolf. Without their Legendary Warrior powers, hope seems lost for our heroes. But will the truth about Nick's past help provide the key to victory? Plus, the final showdown between friends turned enemies, Imperious and Daggeron!moreless

  • Good, but I like evil Koragg better.

    8.4
I liked this episode alot. All my suspicions were correct (Korrag being Leanbow,Nick his son and Udonna his wife),though. But, no offense to anybody, but I personally like Koragg evil. He was just an AWESOME villain! I like him good, but I think he's better evil. All and all, pretty good . Can't wait to see another Koragg/Leanbow episode.
  • Best Episode of the Season! (So Far)

This was a great episode. We get introduced to Brightstar and the Pheonix Unizord, Nick is revealed to be Bowen among things. I was sad to see Imperious destroyed though, I really liked him. We also finally get to see tha Master, who looks both ugly and cool. The Pheonix Unizord was cool. This episode had non stop action from start to finish which made it really great. Not to mention we have a huge family crisis if you call it that. Overall this episode is great, it is the must see episode of the season and has great action, you'll want to watch it again and again!moreless
  • This was good but with an appalling lack of imagination even by the show's standards.

    8.5
This may seem like a slagging off review but its not as the episode was a very good one. However in a show of cliches this has been a season of cliches and in a season of cliches this was an episode of cliches. Villain's right hand man turns out to be a former good guy (and father, husband and mentor to various good guys)so of course the bad guys capture him and turn him evil so the good guys think he was faking all along. He regains his memory with the help of his loved ones and decides to atone for his sins by sacreficing himself to destroy his evil former master. The show isn't renowned for imagination so it takes a lot for one bit to be singled out this criticism, this doesn't just take the biscuit but the whole tin as well.

Lest this seems too negative the execution of the episode was very good (only the theory was poor) and I enjoyed it very much from beginning to end.moreless
  • WOW! What a great great episode.

    10
Finally! It has been revealed that our speculations are true. Nick is Bowen. Also, Leanbow was able to break free from the Master's control completely in the end. This was an exciting and action-packed episode. With the battle between Nick and Koragg(Bowen and Leanbow/father and son), the final showdown between Daggeron and Calindor/Imperious,

and the battle with the Chimera monster, it was truly a great episode. I really liked Nick's new Megazord, the Phoenix Unizord(Mystic Phoenix+Brightstar). I think I like it better than the Centarus Phoenix Megazord. The Master finally revealed itself, and it was not at all what I was expecting, though Leanbow in Ancient Mystic Mode used his powerto seal away the master again, it was impressive. I'm thinking when he returns, he will have his Crimson Wolf powers(or whatever they are called). All in all, a really great episode.moreless
  • Finally

    10
Finally they showed that Nick was indeed the son of Udanna and Leembow which I was kinda waiting for.But it kinda stinks that just as He found his true parents his dad gets destroyed (or did he?)I think that's the true eye catcher of this season/generatoin/world they keep on doing things you wouldn't expect or think they wouldn't do.But let's just hope Nick can handle being the only one with the power to destroy evil or that he doesn't get a big head. But now that Udonna found her long lost son will see be willing to send him to danger?Well I guess we will see.

    Well that's all folks:)moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Udonna says that Leanbow closed the gates to the underworld during the great battle, but it was actually her sister, Niella, which did the actual closing and sealing.

    • Udonna's use of the Book of Dark Spells was supposed to rob her of her magic. It's instead said she's "as vulnerable as a human now". But she manages to quickly teleport herself to the dimension the Rangers are fighting Koragg within, something a normal human wouldn't be able to do.

    • Daggeron mistakenly says that Brightstar can combine with the Rangers' Megazord. This is untrue. It combines with Mystic Phoenix alone.

    • Leanbow claims the virus in the previous episode infected his "Titan Mode". But Koragg doesn't have a Titan Mode, he merely grows large with no change in body. And the virus actually infected his MEGAZORD form, which also isn't technically a form of Titan.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Jenji: (Sneezes Daggeron out through his nose) Oh, the things I do to keep this job. I mean, really!
Daggeron: No offense Jenji, but I think that was more unpleasant for me then it was for you.
      Jenji: Yeah, right!

    • Udonna: That's what I like to see, everyone happy and enjoying the day. But Bowen, didn't I ask you to clean this place up?
Nick: This is just great. I finally find my real mom, and two seconds later I'm getting chores.

    • Nick: He may be my father, but I just spent the last two months stopping him from destroying the world.

    • Chip: So Leanbow is Koragg, and Koragg is Leanbow, and one of them, or both of them, just saved our lives.

    • Imperious: Do you think I care fighting with honor? That is for fools like you and Leanbow!
Daggeron: You've learned nothing from him. I'd rather die with honor than live without it.
      Imperious: So be it!

    • Koragg: Leanbow exists only in memory. I am Koragg now and forever.

    • Udonna: This is Bowen, your child. Our child.
      Koragg: What?
      Nick: What are you saying?
Udonna: You were with me all along, and I never knew. It's truly magical.
Koragg: (reaching out to Nick) My -- My son?

    • Chip: And I thought my family reunions were weird.

    • Leanbow: Power Rangers! Carry on my legacy!

  • NOTES (9)

    • Koragg refuses to fight a disarmed Nick during battle. This is the second time where an enemy refuses to fight an unarmed Red Ranger, the first being with Jack and the samurai Katana in PRSPD.

    • This is the final time this season that a "Monster of the Day" (Chimera) is featured.

    • This is the first time that Daggeron uses his Ancient Mystic Mode in the present day (ie, outside of flashbacks).

    • The Rangers can now speak while in Titan Dragon mode.

    • The Supreme Master of the Underworld, whose partial physical manifestation has been seen since "Code Busters", is fully revealed for the first time, and appears like a large reddish octopus. It's clarified next episode he isn't destroyed, but merely fully sealed away (but don't count him out entirely yet).

    • Introduction and only appearance of Brightstar, the interdimensional Unicorn. Also the first and only time it combines with Nick's Titan mode to create the Phoenix Unizord.

    • The mystery of Udonna & Leanbow's son Bowen's current status (first mentioned in "Scaredy Cat"), and the truth of Nick's secret heritage (first hinted at in "Whispering Voices"), are both solved: Nick is revealed to be Bowen.

    • Imperious, introduced in "Scaredy Cat", is destroyed.

    • Debuted on Toon Disney, on a SPECIAL day and time of FRIDAY night at 8:00pm E&P. ABC Family debut date: Saturday, August 12 at 10:00am E&P.
