Episode Summary

EDIT
Ethan's overly confident, and downright cocky attitude concerning his skills at playing the "Detonation Man" computer game begins to get on everyone's nerves. Who stands a chance of humbling him in a tournament for the game? Meanwhile, Volcanologist Dr. Morton gets turned into a Horn-Rimmed Monster by Elsa, who orders him to reactivate Reefside's dormant volcano to wipe out the city! Plus, both Tommy and Mesogog's forces seek out the loose cannon Zeltrax, and Cassidy falls apart when Devin isn't around for a change.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • When Elsa yells "silence" at the substitute, she is in the background, and then it cuts to a close-up of her half-way through the word. However, when she was in the background, her mouth didn't move.

      • Zeltrax's "lifeforce fading" scene has him literally vanishing, when he should be teleporting away in his red invisiportal.

      • The Stegazord is summoned by Tommy, despite it having belonged to Mesogog's forces for more than a dozen episodes. If they could call it all along, why not summon it before the clone could in previous episodes? This is explained away in the next episode.

    • QUOTES (9)

    • NOTES (7)

      • Second monster this season to be made (partially) out of a human being (after Marty the Mackerel in "It's A Mad Mad Mackerel").

      • Trent doesn't appear morphed in this episode.

      • First time the Triptoids have fought the Rangers in two consecutive episodes in a row. And this is at least the second time the Tyrannodrones have appeared but not fought in an ep.

      • The Thundersaurus Meagazord (with Stegazord)'s "Hanging Ten" attack is used for the first time since its introduction in "Ocean Alert". First time the Stegazord has been used by the (good) DT Rangers since "White Thunder (3)", and an explaination as to how they can summon it when it's been solely used by the EWR clone for a while now won't come until the next episode.

      • This is longtime television veteran Bruce Kalish's first PR involvement. He will return as show runner and one of the executive producers for the series starting with PRSPD.

      • Devin's last name is revealed to be Del Valle (though it's mispronounced).

      • The Horn Rimmed Monster, despite being made from Dr Morton, actually had a cameo debut as one of three monsters in the "practice dimension" where Evil White Ranger clone sparred in "Triassic Triumph."
