Episode Summary

With Daggeron, Leanbow, Mystic Mother, and Jenji destroyed, Good Magic running low, and a damaged Briarwood as the battleground, the Rangers have no one else to turn to when dealing with Black Lance, followed by the supreme Master himself. Will the Light flicker in this final battle against the darkness, or will the power of belief in magic win the day? Meanwhile, Sculpin has Udonna captive, and only Necrolai can save her!moreless

  • anti-climactic

It was kind of stupid, definitely the worst season ending to the worst season yet. The Master just wanted to eat magic and other than nearly killing some of the characters who didn't really die was useless. Necrolai suddenly caring about her daughter for once and saving everyone was nice but came really late for her character and a sudden turnaround just didn't make sense. They should've built up to it like they did with Leelee. And Vida dying her entire head pink? I don't think so! That's like Maddie having a pet frog!moreless
  • I'm kinda sad it's ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This ending was one of the best Power Ranger endings to me. In my opinion, Mystic Force packed more of a punch. They didn't bring on the heat just for the last episode like most of the rangers did. In the end, Nick left, but said he would come back if he had someone to come back to. Madison said admitted she wanted him to come back after naming everybody else. Xander becaom manager. Magical creatures and humans got along. Oh, and Nick went out of town with his real parents. My favorite series of Power Rangers has just bacame Mystic Force. I think I'm gonna cry. I didn't want it to end, but Operation Overdrive has some big shoes to fill. Cant wait to see how it turns out. I think the ending was sweet, simple, and cool. "Power Rangers Mystic Force!"moreless
  • The finale of Power Rangers Mystic Force.

This was an awesome and great way to end Power Rangers Mystic Force. It was also amazing, how all the Power Rangers took down and defeated the Master with some help from the people from Briarwood standing united together, with amazing power. However, I think that Nick should have stayed in Briarwood, and, I also really think that both Nick and Madison should have kissed on the lips toward the end of the episode. After all, I hear the two people that played Nick and Madison (Firass Dirani and Melanie Vallejo) are dating. In my honest opinion, I think Nick and Madison make a great couple.moreless
  • Amazing!

Mystic Fate is by far the best season finale ever. And I mean for the entire PR series. We finally have a finale worthy to be compared with "Countdown to Destruction" from the Power Rangers In Space season finale from eight years ago. Now don't get me wrong, each season finale since then, and prior to, did have some impact emotionally on the viewers, but Mystic Fate somehow had a "satisfying" feeling; everything was completely wrapped up. Superb acting on every actor and actress, especially from Melanie Vallejo (Maddie, the Blue Ranger) in her "never give up" scene with Firass Dirani (Nick, the Red Ranger).

As with the goal of every PR season, there must be a moral to accompany each episode. And this series was no exception. That would be the work of Bruce Kalish and Jackie Marchand who have made it clear that they believe if people of different walks of life join together, they can accomplish great things.

After watching the original Japanese counterpart, which this episode was based off of, I did notice several similarities, but I was thoroughly pleased with the differences. I am also pleased with the decision the writers made as to retire Machiko Soga's famous character Rita Repulsa, the ever-popular sorceress who debuted with the PR Franchise back in 1993. Soga passed away in early 2006, but made a brief appearance to play the eternal monarch of good magic in the Japanese original, Magiranger. The producers of Power Rangers carried her storyline as Rita, who had reformed and become the Mystic Mother. And like her adversary Zordon, she now wanders the galaxy as good energy.

Truly a spectacular ending to a spectacular year. Well done RangerProductions!moreless
  • After years of team-up episodes it was refreshing to see the current team get out of troblem with the help of real people from briarwood. Toby was the six ranger in my book.moreless

The best ending to any of the Power Rangers series.........

The combination of former dark monsters with the good guys was an interesting twist. Having the towns people and the forrest people helping the power rangers was also nice to see. One of the biggest surprises was seeing Rita as the Mother Mystic, who would of thought she would turn out to be such a powerful and good person. With this season done I just wonder what is in store for the next group of teenagers with attitudes. I hope we won't have to wait long to find out.

P.S. Sander is right LeeLe's mom is Hot.....lol

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • The townspeople and forest inhabitants restore Udonna's powers, despite her never actually losing them in the first place.

    • Not only do the people of Briarwood and the forest have the power to restore the Rangers, but move them as well. When the Rangers are lined up unmorphed, Vida is behind Nick to the left of the screen with Xander behind her. Maddy and Chip are on the right. But when the people move away after they've remorphed the Pink and Green Rangers are on the right and the Blue and Yellow on the left. Leanbow and Daggeron are also moved. The only ones who stay where they were are Nick and Udonna.

    • End credits mention Red Koragg again, as well as regular Koragg (who doesn't appear whatsoever). Also, Kelson Henderson as Elf Leader is included, despite his only being in part 1.

    • Toby claims the people of Briarwood and the citizens of the Mystical Realm "don't get along". But we've never seen anything even hinting this, all we ever got was people were scared to go into the forest in the first episode. Nothing was said about "fear of the people who live there". And the Mystical Realm people didn't ever express a dislike for humans, only the Rangers last episode because Nick was briefly evil!

    • How did Jenji come back to life? Necrolai uses up her power bringing just Daggeron and Leanbow back to life. Jenji and Daggeron aren't connected, his location when he turned to nothingness last episode doesn't exactly match where the two knights were positioned. So, she just used her powers to bring back life generically in the area, not specifically to bring Leanbow and Daggeron back?

    • Mystic Mother turning out to be alive is beyond a mistake. The Master consumes magic. It was said in the previous episode that she was defeated by the Master consuming her magic, which left her defenseless. Yet, she has enough power to turn to energy, AND turn back to normal again?! And the Master, who's power enough to see the future and bring the Rangers to the future, doesn't know this?!

    • Despite being weak and defeated, and their position never changing, the Rangers all vanish from the background when Black Lance fires at the approaching Red Ranger, who never altered his angle when walking toward the Terror.

    • Why is no mention made of the Tribunal of Magic, from "Dark Wish"? If the Master is going around consuming all of the world's magic, they would be concerned. Similarly, why didn't the Mystic Mother, if she's the "magical source", give the Rangers back their magic?

    • During the flashback to Sculpin's destruction, the giant stone tablet that the Master smashed open early in the previous episode is fully intact. Though this was a flashback, it took place well after Master was released from it.

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Nick: There is no end to our magic!

    • Madison: So, you're leaving?
Nick: Yeah, I'm going to see my adoptive parents; I've got a lot to tell them about!
Madison: So you're not coming back?
      Nick: I didn't say that.
Madison: So you ARE coming back?
Nick: What I'm saying is: I'd like to come back, if I had something or someone to come back to.
Madison: There is. There's Xander, Vida, Chip, Toby, Phineas, Leelee, and...um...umm...and...me. I want you to come back...for me.
      (Nick takes out his blanket)
Nick: Could you hold on to this for me?
      Madison: Sure.
      (Nick leaves on his motorcycle)
      Madison: He'll be back.

    • The Master: You are only one!
Nick: And unfortunately for you, the wrong one!

    • The Master: But I am The Master!
Itassis: Well, this puppet has cut the strings!

    • Sculpin: How could you defeat me?
      Itassis: With courage!

    • The Master: (devouring all of the Rangers' magic) Stop! It's too much! I cannot take any more! I have...devoured...all I can!
      (The Master explodes)

    • Madison: (somberly to Nick) Don't you say that. Don't you say that, not you. You have held us together through all of this! You will not give up! Listen to me! Giving up is not an option for you! We are a team, and you are this team's leader! We go on, no matter what.

    • Sculpin: You're alive, but how?!
Itassis: With a little help from my friend -- Necrolai.
      Sculpin: Necrolai!
Necrolai: Itassis was the only one to show me any kindness, so I revived her!
Sculpin: I never trusted that bat!

    • Nick: We will show The Master what real courage is. Even without magic.
(Mystic Mother appears in the sky)
Mystic Mother: Without magic, Mystic ones? You are never without magic. You just have to know where to find it.

    • Toby: Power Rangers...you have fought all year for us. Your magic is used up. Well, now let us give you some of our magic.
Phineas: That's right! You're not the only ones. All of us believe in magic, thanks to you.

    • Itassis: And can you teach me more about courage?
      Daggeron: I'd be honored to.
Jenji: And don't forget about me. Courage is my middle name. Well, Modress is my middle name, but you get what I mean.

    • (telling his side of the story to customers)
Chip: There I was, face-to-face with Necrolai herself. She cowered.
      Nikki: Oh, really? Cowered?
Chip: Well, maybe not cower, but she trembled.
      Nikki: Trembled?
      Chip: Uh...broke a sweat?
Nikki: Vampires do not sweat. They glow.
Toby: Hey Nicky, hadn't we better get going to the movies? They start at ten.
      Nikki: Okay. (They leave)
Chip: (To the crowd) She broke a sweat.

    • Xander: (after seeing Necrolai in her new human form) Wow. Leelee's mom is hot!

    • Leanbow: Wolf Warrior!
      Daggeron: Solaris Knight!
      Udonna: White Mystic Ranger!
      Xander: Green Mystic Ranger!
      Vida: Pink Mystic Ranger!
      Madison: Blue Mystic Ranger!
      Chip: Yellow Mystic Ranger!
      Nick: Red Mystic Ranger!
All: We call upon the magic! Together as one! United for all time! Power Rangers Mystic Force!

  • NOTES (11)

    • Xander, and his Green MF Ranger powers, will return in PROO's "Once A Ranger" two-parter.

    • This episode marks the only time the five core Rangers, the White Ranger, Solaris Knight and Wolf Warrior all battle side-by-side.

    • Not only is this the first and only time a Ranger (namely Nick) has used their Lion Staff outside of Legend Mode, it is also the only time they have used it with their Magistaff.

    • This is the first time since PRiS' finale, "Countdown to Destruction (2)" that a PR seasonal incarnation has ended without including a promo announcing the name and general premise of the next season (though one finally did run a few days after, and the official website was updated the same time).

    • Necrolai uses up all her magic reviving Daggeron and Leanbow, and becomes a human being named "Nikki".

    • Vida has fully pink hair, no highlights for the first time, at the end of the episode.

    • This episode marks the destruction of the Manticore Megazord (Nick specifically refers to it being destroyed, presumably he means the Manticore Megazord power).

    • First and only time the Mystic Force Rangers appear morphed but helmetless (only the main five, Udonna, Leanbow, and Daggeron never appear as such).

    • Made its worldwide premiere outside of its country of origin on Jetix U.K. Saturday, November 4th, 2006, alongside the similar worldwide debut of its first part.

    • Made its country-of-origin debut on Toon Disney on its regular day and time of Monday Night at 8:00pm E&P, during "The Final Spell" marathon, alongside the debut of the previous episode. ABC Kids debut date: February 24th, 2007 at 12:30pm ET/11:30am PT.
