Episode Summary

EDIT
Tommy's a captive of Divatox, and dangling over the Vortex of Eternal Doom and Sorrow, with only a rat-eaten rope keeping him hanging on to life. The only ones to have even a clue as to where he is are TJ & Cassie, but are they brave and strong enough to face the forces of evil? Flamite, after ruining the teens' camping trip, turns his sights on the city, heating the situation up by growing. Can Ashley & Carlos keep a group of children out of harm's way while the Rangers put out the giant fire? And on top of all of that, time is running out for the four eldest Rangers, who must pass on their powers to worthy successors by the end of the day, or place the world in permanent peril.moreless

  • The classic cannon says goodbye.

Although I wasn't watching Power Rangers with as much interest as I used to by this point, I still wanted to know what happened with the four remaining Power Rangers I had grown to know and love. When I saw this episode, it seemed to be irreversible proof that the Power Rangers that I had grown to know and love were going to be gone forever, never to come back for another episode. It was the end of an era for me, and for many other Power Ranger fans who had watched Power Rangers for oh so many years. :(moreless
  • This two-parter is best known for two things: 1 the debut of T.J and Cassie and 2 the last show (full time) for Adam, Kat, Tanya, and Tommy (until PRDT'S Day of the Dino)moreless

    8.5
Well, after T.J, Kat, and Cassie defeated Divatox's footsolders, Kat help her friends while T.J and Cassie look for Tommy. They eventually find him in a cave and rescued him and help the others defeat there last monster as the Turbo Rangers. After that Tommy's group passed on their powers to Carlos, Ashley, Cassie and T.J as fo Justin, he's stays and contuined as the Blue Ranger. Altough is one of the best Turbo and or Power Rangers show, It is still pretty good to see for those two reasons Therefore I give it 8.5 out of 10.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Why do the Rangers have to pick their replacements before the sand runs down on the hourglass? It's never explained on the show, but thanks to the unfilmed script "Rangers in Concert", we know that the Rangers have seen the full Millennium Message and are not only aware of who their replacements are, but that they'll save the world from a massive villain invasion by the end of the decade. It seems the timing for when they're to become Rangers and get properly trained to deal with this is also known.

    • Dimitria, who previously ONLY spoke in questions, now talks normally.

  • QUOTES (4)

  • NOTES (5)

    • Ashley becomes the first Caucasian Yellow Ranger, Cassie becomes the first Asian Pink Ranger, Carlos becomes the first Hispanic Green Ranger, and T.J. becomes the first African-American Red Ranger.

    • This episode features the final appearance of Alpha 5. He's mentioned one more time, in "The Robot Ranger" (see that episode's notes for more). He seems to have returned to his pre-Turbo Movie body, also. Similarly, this is the first time Zordon has ever been shown outside of his plasma tube, outside of flashbacks.

    • This marks the first time on the show when armed forces (this being the Army) are shown being involved with evacuating civilians during a monster attack.

    • Ashley (Tracy Lynn Cruz), Cassie (Patricia Ja Lee), Carlos (Roger Velasco) and TJ (Selwyn Ward) become the new Turbo Rangers, though won't be added to the opening credits until the following episode. They appear here, morphed but helmetless.

    • Tommy (Jason David Frank), Kat (Catherine Sutherland), Adam (Johnny Yong Bosch), and Tanya (Nakia Burrise) depart the series with this episode. Adam will return in PRiS' "Always A Chance" & PROO's "Once a Ranger" two parter, and Tommy will first return in PRWF's "Forever Red", followed by a resumation of starring in the show with PRDT's "Day Of The Dino (1)".
