  • Not very good.

First of all, the SFX used for space battles in this series look worse than the original 60's Star Trek. It looks terrible and should only be used sparingly. The whole fight against the fighters is an especially clunky sequence to begin with, so add in the bad effects and it's a wasted few minutes. Second, why did the rangers have to kill the lobster creature? It wasn't a typical villain monster. It was just part of the natural wildlife of the planet. Once the Rangers were free of their shackles there was really no point in being so brutal. I mean, they ripped the antennae off the thing and threw it into a pit of lava. OK, so maybe it was going to eat them, but there was still no reason to be so brutal. It didn't even put up a fight. Why couldn't they have just teleported off the planet and let well enough alone? Because of course it's your monster of the week. Weak move. If ou have to have that, at least suggest that Astronema made it or something. Whatever. Speaking of Astomena, she's the clunkiest, hammiest villain the series has seen in 6 seasons. Ugh. Otherwise, the episode is not up to much. It kind just lingers over a few scratched CDs for most of the screen time. On account of not being outright terrible, it gets a passing grade, but that's about it.moreless
