Episode Summary

EDIT
Famed French perfume master, Monsieur Stenchy, is holding a fashion show at the Youth Center. Skull is assigned to protect the top model, and accidentally makes things worse for her by dumping a bottle of the overwhelming fragrence on her. Inspired by this, the Louie Kaboom-controlled Machine Empire creates the Mr. Stenchy monster, a robotic skunk who aims to make the Zeo Rangers stink so bad that they won't be able to stand one another. Meanwhile, Billy tracks an undentified object approaching Earth from outer space, accompanied by a distress signal from Trey warning them of their planet being in danger!moreless

  • Pretty eventful

Plenty of stuff in this one. The villains plan to stink out the rangers so they don't want to work together anymore is easily laughed at at first but really once you think about it it was one of their more workable ideas, and when its a team of spandex clad teenagers that's giving you trouble you can't go wrong by trying to split them up. In a ground breaking event Skull didn't mess up an assignment (much), Jason was persuaded to model in order to impress emily and a new zord arrived which typically was needed in its first battle. The appearance of Zedd and Rita's gang didn't seem to serve a purpose though.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Why did Monsieur Stenchy insist that his name was pronounced 'stenchois' when it is impossible to get a 'ois' sound out of a 'y' even in French?

    • Why did the Rangers seem to be able to smell the Stenchy monster's smelly spray in battle when it was sprayed on them, but then not be able to smell it on themselves in the Power Chamber? They obviously still smelled just as bad since Billy and Alpha made note of their stench.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • (Bulk and Detective Stone have lunch while swinging on the swings)
Bulk: Well, this is better than babysitting that super stinky model.
Detective Stone: Well, perfume or not, I've never smelled anything so awful in my life.

    • Alpha: No offense Rangers, but you-reeka!
      Jason: I don't smell anything.
Alpha: Lucky you! If this keeps up, ai-yi-yi, my circuits will melt!

    • Tommy: It's time for us to air you out!
Stenchy: Makes sense. Better yet, I'll make scents; A stinky scent!

    • Tommy: You haven't skunked us yet!
Stenchy: You can't hold your breath forever; Stink ya later!

    • Stenchy Monster(To Warrior Wheel): You TYRE me, you Ranger reject; Try my rank-ray!

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The title of the episode is a reference to the movie, "Scent of a Woman" with Al Pacino. There are also references to the movie "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner in the show, as well.

    • Skull: I saw it on an old rerun of the Partridge Family!
Skull claims to have gotten the idea for getting the skunk-stench out of the model using tomato juice from the classic 1970-1974 sitcom, "The Partridge Family." (The episode he is referring to is entitled "But the Memory Lingers On".)
