In the concluding episode, Nigel returns to the end of the Cretaceous period to bring back a different monster - a dinosaur-eating crocodile. However, an unwanted hitchhiker throws the Prehistoric Park into chaos.
In the series' finale, Nigel goes back to bring back Deinosuchus, a crocodile that ate dinosaurs in a manner that modern crocodiles eat antelopes and buffallo. Unfortunately, an opportunistic Troodon (a velociraptor-like dinosaur) hitches a ride back to the present, and causes a park-wide break-out.
In the concluding episode, the series' weakness becomes apparent: they are finite, and working with a limited amount of characters, who were given only a limited amount of development, which starts to grate on the audience's nerves as the episodes went by. Thus, it is extremely unlikely, despite the promise at the episode's end, that "Prehistoric Park" will ever return for a second season, like "Primeval" has.moreless
