      • Lynda: Why do I get everything in my whole stupid life wrong?

      • Lynda: Why do I do so many major scenes of my life dressed in my pyjamas?

      • Mr Sullivan: I'm your guardian angel.
Lynda: Oh, I thought you were my English teacher.
Mr Sullivan: Well, I've got to eat.
Lynda: I've got a guardian angel, and you're it?
Mr Sullivan: HIM, Lynda. Don't be indelicate with your personal pronouns.

      • Lynda: So what you're really doing, is warning your son against women like you?
        Katherine: You'd do the same.
        (Spike gets up to leave)
        Lynda: Spike...
Spike: Sorry. Out of my league, out of my depth, out of this room! Thanks for dropping by, mom! (leaves)

      • James: What do you say we meet up sometime and make peace, huh? Maybe tonight? Dinner across the road?
Katherine: I'd rather die of a protractid vomiting fit. In fact, I probably would. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to wait on the other side of these doors. You're standing rather close, and I hate it when my skin crawls. Obviously, we'll both be attending this school for a while yet, so it really would help in the future if you'd never speak to me again. Goodbye.

      • James: Hey, you got a problem with your sense of humor?
Katherine: I do, yes, but I'm hoping you'll go away shortly.
James: Hey, I know what it is. You're English!
Katherine: It runs in the family.
        James: I blame the parents.
