What does everyone else think about the final scenes of the last episode of the series?

The last episode has always frustrated me. The whole episode looks compressed and heavily edited. It was only years later that I found out that the filmed episode WAS heavily edited to fill the standard time slot (one of the drawbacks of the series being on ITV rather than BBC - I'm sure Auntie Beeb would have given them an extended slot had the series aired there).

I was so disappointed when I saw the the "extended" final episode did not make it to the series 5 DVD extras.

Having said all that, the final scenes were great. Did she or didn't she?

I have only just watched the series. The final episode through me a little. It jumps at the end and I got confused as to what was happening? Was is intentional or what? I did enjoy it and kind of liked how the end is undefined and leaves you guessing. I want to know what was intended for the series had it continued. Any ideas where to look???

What was in the extended episode??? I'm sure that she was dead, but at the same time I keep thinking she was alive???

    EDIT:
I've added a poll to see what everyone thinks.

I would like to believe that she lived, but I am not sure. If she had lived why didn't she get cleaned up after the fire? or was that intentional for when she meet up with Colin, and said she had risen from Hell??? Can't explain that. On the other hand if she had died wouldn't she be glowing or something. Or have I watched too much TV.

Where would you find the extended episode?

i always assumed that she was alive. She would have been all cleaned up if she was a figment of Spikes imagination. She also defeats her demons in this ep. Doesn't that mean she lived? Of course if you want to believe she died you can think up arguements for her being dead.

I liked the last episode, as it was unique for a childrens television show!

I think Lynda survived. Steven Moffatt has said he wants to make a reunion show. And when asked what he imagines the characters doing now, the answer gave me the impression that both Spike and Lynda were alive, but perhaps not together. So here's hoping they do a reunion show, or maybe even a movie!!! Julia was eager to do it. So if they get Dex on board, we've got ourselves a movie!

I don't know. I'd like to think she survived, but in a way I don't think it matters. Or at least that's what Steven says and I kinda agree with him (I guess).
