Peter Tomarken, host of 'Press Your Luck,' has passed away alongside his wife in a tragic airplane accident. Details here: http://insider.tv.yahoo.com/news/3870/

So sad he left us so soon, but the fourth Whammy got to him before his time. RIP Peter, you did good!

GSN is showing the Michael Larson episodes tonight at 10 p.m. (the two hour special hosted by Peter)

Sunday they are showing Press Your Luck from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Just one small correction, Peter was born in 1942.

My most recent blog post was about this. Man, this is truly a sad era in game shows.

I heard about it yesterday. It's a shame. I heard that the flight was for charity too.

Peter Tomarken will definitely be missed. I know that somewhere out there, he'll still be pressing his luck!

Though he never made it really big, he was still lucky enough to host a game show that we'll remember forever.

They played part of the recording from the plane on TV and the last thing he said was he didn't think he was going to make it back. It was both creepy and sad.

He was one of those rare people that would go out of their way to help someone. Peter knew of the risks that come with flying an airplane and sadly died trying to help someone get some cancer treatment. I don't see other big names doing something like that... I heard from his oldest child and he said that his father had a generous spirit and this final act showed just how much he cared about people. He was indeed an angel...

After hearing about Peter Tomarken's tragic death I became interested in Press Your Luck and it all started with a handheld game of Press Your Luck and then my love for Press Your Luck grew and grew and I have been interested in learning even more about it and just recently I just got a Nintendo DS version of Press Your Luck for my birthday and it's been my favorite game to play. It's really a shame that Peter passed away because he really had talent as a game show host and Press Your Luck really made him a superstar and I'm sure if he was here today Peter Tomarken would be in the game show host hall of fame.,

Not exactly the way I would want to go. I would've been a little more comforted if he had died of natural causes, but its very sad nonetheless.
