  • It's Ian's funeral

It's Ian's funeral with the liars lining up to see Alison's killer put in the ground, later 'A' shares the full video of Ian and Alison on the night she was murdered which shows the original they saw in a different light.
  • A break from the usual one great episode, one meh episode routine.

Usually when Pretty Little Liars gives us a secret revealing, exiting, suspense episode, the one that follows cools things down. Not this time!

Spencer insists that the Hastings throw Ian a funeral since they couldn't reach any of his family except for an aunt who wants nothing to do with this whole thing. Emily finds something really suspicious about the the suicide letter they found with Ian, later realising that it was actually written by "A" and is a compiliation of texts sent to them. Hannah learns more about Caleb's foster mother's unfairness towards him and fixes the problem, and we learn more about Hannah's grandather. Aria finds out her brother is the one that has been sneaking into everyone's homes, and he was also the one who tackled her. She finds this out with the help of Jason, who later tells her that he thought he killed Allison, until Ian's letter proved otherwise. Mellissa's having a baby girl and tries to make amends with Spencer only to be interrupted by Ian's phone in Spencer's bag, resulting in her thinking that Spencer was the one sending her those texts. Emily recieves a letter from "A" leading her to a trail in the cemetry where a projector starts replaying the Allison/Ian video. The video shocks the girls for it is longer and proves that Ian did not kill her.

Revealing. Suspensful. Entertaining. Should be like this all the time.moreless

As the shocking news about Ian makes the rounds through Rosewood, Aria, Emily, Hanna, Spencer and their families all try to cope with the outcome and some much needed closure. With her home life particularly in turmoil, Spencer stays focused on her family and the surprising support she gets from her parents. Emily, on the other hand, can't seem to find the closure that others are relishing, but rather digs her heels in to find any shred of evidence they may have over looked. And Aria looks to find comfort in Ezra, but with their relationship still new to the outside world, the couple struggles to be so public so fast. With everyone looking for comfort and sharing a huge sigh of relief, could Emily be right and the devil they think has been put to rest is nowhere near the evil that still looms out there, just waiting for the Liars to get theirs? Meanwhile, Hanna gets a surprising look into Caleb's life after his shady foster mother surfaces.moreless
  • The Liars deal with the aftermath of Ian's death.

I'm surprised that Emily was the one to figure out that -A wrote the suicide letter and not Ian. I thought for sure it would be Spencer, but she just wanted to be with her family. I think Melissa overreacted when she saw Spencer with Ian's phone. She didn't even give her time to explain. Now their relationship is even more complicated. Spencer still has to tell Melissa about the ring because if she doesn't then you know -A will make sure she finds out the truth. Jason catches Mike trying to rob his house and tells Aria, but doesn't press charges. Then we find out that Mike has been robbing several houses and was the mystery person in Spencer's house that pushed down Aria. Aria telling Ezra that she wants him to comfort her right there at the funeral rather then back at his apartment hints that their relationship is about to hit an iceberg. Aria talking with Jason was a little weird, but we find out that he blacked out during the night of Alison's disappearence and woke up with a note saying "I know what you did." That's another question that we'll probably never get an answer to. I didn't pay much attention to Hanna's storyline, but appearently she got Caleb's social worker to give him his money. They kissed and now they're back together. I'm not interested in their relationship that much. The video clip of Alison and Ian projected in the graveyard was creepy. It turns out that she didn't die in the video and that means Ian most likely didn't kill her. So who is Alison's murderer?moreless
