  • "Dead Girls Walking"-A

This episode is Toby's first appearance and Jenna's first speaking episode, and these two sure come with a lot of secrets and mysteries. And a huge twist in later episodes, which I'm not going to tell about now. The end scene wasn't that scary though, when Spencer sees Jenna sending a text, that doesn't mean she was "A", she probably wouldn't be saying "send text now", she would have found a way to send the text without anyone noticing. Pretty good episode, slow, but the show will pick up soon. This is the period where it isn't very scary, which is important for a show to have!moreless
  • Jenna Cavanaugh returns to Rosewood after a brief stint in a school for the visually-impaired and we finally learn what happened during the night of "the Jenna thing". It turns out the girls have more to worry about than a manipulative queen bee.moreless

We finally learn what "the Jenna thing" is all about.

This show is getting better and better. I thought that the girls were really innocent and didn't know anything about Alison's disappearance, but it seems that Alison was involved in some shady encounters - one leading to Jenna's blindness - and the girls tried to protect her and each other by keeping secrets. It looks like it might soon backfire on them, though, since the detective can tell that they're not telling the whole truth. It's crazy that right now, Jenna seems to be the one behind the mysterious texts, but I'm sure it's more complicated than that. Also, how would she have known about all of the girls' secrets? I'm excited to see what happens next, since not only are the girls entangled in past secrets, they're continually getting themselves into further sticky situations, what with Aria's relationship with Ezra and Spencer kissing her sister's boyfriend. I can't wait to see where they go from here.moreless
  • Season 1, Episode 2

When the pilot episode ended we had a great cliffhanger with all the girls outside of Alison's funeral reading a text from "A" saying she back and that she knows everything! That right there got me excited for this episode. but also, the girls saw the return of "Jenna". Who is Jenna? I kept asking myself. The girls also kept talking about "The Jenna Thing", which I knew was the title of this episode, so I knew this episode was gonna be good. and this episode did not disappoint! We continued learning more about the main characters and about Jenna. Jenna is blind and apparently it is because of Alison. Emily gets closer to Maya. Mr. Fitz and Aria continue their "romance" as Aria gets denied her request to switch out of his class. Mr. Fitz joins Aria and her mom at the movies. In the end, Aria gets a text from "A" saying that when students kiss teachers. someone gets HURT. that a promise I'll keep.... and Spencer is shocked to see Jenna doing something, that leaves the audience shocked and wierded out.

    Great Episode. 8/10moreless

A good episode of Pretty Little Liars, but I think the pilot was stronger than this episode. This episode felt too familiar to the pilot. The only real development we got was us finding out what happened on the night of "The Jenna Thing." So the girls made Toby Cavanaugh's sister blind. The plot definitely thickened, but everything else seemed too familiar to the pilot, which made the episode forgettable in ways.

The possibility of Jenna being A is definitely intriguing and it is definitely one of the only stand out things in this episode. You have to find some reasoning in the detective's decision to follow the girls. With a girl looking as suspicious as they do, I'd be following them. Emily is struggling with her sexuality, Aria continues to see Ezra, Spencer kisses her sister's new boyfriend resulting in a breakup between Melissa and him, and of course, we have the detective following Hannah.

Good episode, can't wait for the next.moreless
