Primetime is a long running news magazine show from ABC. The original hosts were Sam Donaldson and Diane Sawyer, and was then known as PrimeTime Live, complete with a live studio audience. Over the years, Primetime evolved into the popular "tabloid-esque" news format, interviewing minor celebrities and reality show contestants. Beginning with the 2006-07 season, Primetime began airing in specific formats. The first of such segments was Primetime: Basic Instincts, an examination of people's decision making abilities. Other formats include Primetime: What Would You Do?, a series of hidden camera segments; Primetime: Medical Mysteries, which focused on unanswered medical phenomena; Primetime: The Outsiders, a series examining people who live outside the norms of society; Primetime: Family Secrets, an exposé on contemporary families; and Primetime: Crime, detailing the inner workings of crime investigation. Current hosts for Primetime include Cynthia McFadden, John Quiñones, and David Muir, as well as contributions from Jay Schadler and Mary Fulginiti.
