  • The team mount a rescue mission when Abby’s brother Jack inadvertently drives through an anomoly to future world of predators.

When an main character's relative gets brought into the script of any kind of action series it's only a matter of time before he or she will be in peril.

This is the episode for Abby's tediously uninteresting brother Jack.

I'm sure that I wasn't the only person watching that was thinking let him die he's a waste of space.

This should have been ab Abby episode but rather than it strengthening and developping her character it did the opposite and she looked weaker.

Connor's inconsistantcy continued. One minute he's brave the next he's a coward. I think it's sfe to say that characterization isn't one of the production teams strenths.

On the positive side we did finally get to see the Abby and Connor kiss, but I'm not convinced it worked based on future episodes.

The monsters were good but they didnt make sense in the way they were used. This episode falls into the catergory of good, but dont think about it too much.moreless
  • Jack Maitland steals his sisters locator and exacerbates an already tense situation involving a future anomaly. He goes through when attacked and the team has to go in after him. They are dealing with the future predators and a specie of mutated ants.moreless

Unfortunately this episode may have hit rock bottom after three seasons. The non-combatants theme needs to go away. Only the acting by the main characters keeps this from a lower score. Also the fact that Abby finally seems to understand Connor's feelings for real this time. That he really loves her and it's not an infatuation. Jack Maitland has no redeeming value as a character. Rhetorical question! Are there actually people in the world really this worthless? He has the gaul to yell "You Coward" to Danny when he climbs out to pull him up. When Abby says Becker is dead his response is "So what." Like that's his job, too bad for him. Finally he actually blamed Abby for him being there like she made him steal the locator from her purse. He is a real scumbag. The one redeeming thing he did do was tell her about Connor and Rex. He really needs to go and never return. We all know people like this in real life and unfortunately to them what's life got in it for me and they generally are a waste of space and resources.

Enough preaching. If you couldn't tell I didn't like that character. I would actually stop watching the show if he was a regular character.

Becker, Danny, and Connor again show how really brilliant and heroic they are and what people with character are all about. Sarah really has to face one of her biggest fears and passes with flying colors as well.

It looks like we are going to be seeing the team deal with both Johnson and Cutter in the coming episodes. Should be interesting. Thanks for reading...moreless
  • Well it finally happened the coveted kiss we waited three seasons to see.

Honestly it was a bit anticlimactic. For some reason I imagined rain and a giant creature waiting to devour them causing reason to give way to passion in hope that they'll be reunited in worlds to come but then again the doctors say I have an over active mind. I think the episode would have been better if it was one of the team stuck in the future instead of Abby's prick brother; he really took away from the "moments" which could have developed here. All in all another good episode, the show honestly can't strive for great anymore since Cutter, Claudia/Jenny and Stephen are gone.moreless
  • And the plot on the bus goes "Bzzzzzz....SWAT", "Bzzzz...SWAT", "Bzzzz....SWAT"

There's worrying signs of a charisma vacuum at the top of Primeval. Cutter (Douglas Henshall) may have been a one-man army, but his implausible personality could have carried this implausible episode over the crevasses in its plot – something that the more credible character of Danny (Jason Flemyng) can't. And why do the writers resort to an irksome little brother to drag the team through the anomaly? (How about having a monster capture one of the them?)

But post-apocalyptic island on the other side of the anomaly—with its brooding colony of batosaurs—is pleasingly atmospheric, and the series' plot arc gets a promising little tweak: proving that even on its days off, Primeval has plenty to offer.moreless
