  • This episode acts more like a pure filler episode, all the requests/missions in this episode was for nothing, the only purpose was to buy time until the next episode.

Details/Progress (To point A to B) -» (7/10). Lincoln have to Save LJ and Sara, but can he? Of course not, so it seems pure filer. Michael has a mission also, get his hands on a phone in Sona, seems like filler too.

Presentation Phase - » (7/10). Good presentation, but more than that it’s impossible, since this is a introduction for some filler time.

Complication Phase - » (8/10). The situation is well explored, with Michael using T-bag to get his hand on the phone. Lincoln being clever and trying to save his son and Sara.

Climax Phase - » (8/10). At least, the tension because of the phone is very good.

Suspense/Tension - » (8/10). Lechero acts like the guard on Fox River, so Michael mission was dangerous, and that add the necessary tension.

Drama - » (6/10). Michael and Sara (supposed) on the phone, but that wasn´t good.

Ending - » (8/10). The ending makes you curious.

    Surprises/Shocks/Twists - » (6/10). Don´t expect surprises in this filler episode.

Time and Scene Management - » (7/10). Almost every character had their share of participation, however some of them seems irrelevant to me = filler, characters like Lincoln, Bellick, Mahone, even Michael request was filler, but like I said some fillers was well explored.

Plot Details/Holes- » (7/10). Usually filler don´t have flaws, since they purpose is just to distract you, but even this had some.

What I liked -» The tension played good.

    What I Didn´t Liked -» Filler scenes.

  • Micheal uses t-bag to contact Sara, Mahone struggles without his pills, whistler asks questions and gives some answers, meanwhile outside of Sona, Lincon tries to rescue L.J. and Sara.

Another excellent episode season 3 looks like the best season yet! I enjoyed the fact that Micheal has something on t-bag and therefore can use him to get certain things (like the cell phone). I don't know how much longer Mahone can survive in Sona without his pills. It looks like Bellic is doing allot better than he was last episode, we didn't see much of him but at least hes not naked anymore. It was really good how Lincon had a much better part in this episode. The only thing I didn't like about this episode is that Sara wasn't Sara. It was a different actress on the phone and in the room when Lincon came to rescue them, so I don't think Sara will be in this season, (the actresses name doesn't come up in the starting credits). but the worst part of all is how it ended ,what a cliff hanger, what is in that box!!!!!!!!!!!!moreless

  • Untakable cliffhanger.

    9.7
Things just took a dramatic turn.

Sucre comes to Lincoln, looking for money. He refuses to help Lincoln look for Sara and LJ. Meanwhile, Michael finds that Lechero isn't interested in any kind of truce with him. Lincoln visits Michael and shows him today's photo of Sara and LJ. On the paper they're holding up Sara's pointing to the words "Santa Rita", which is also a small town near Sona.

Linc tells Susan that Michael won't help with Whistler until he talks to Sara to make sure she's ok. Susan refuses, and Michael learns there's only one phone in Sona – and Lechero has it.

Mahone meets with his public defender and finds that he has a trial date – next year. And even if Michael testifies he set Mahone up, it won't wash – one inmate taking the fall for another is common. Realizing how trapped he is, Mahone begs for his medication. The attorney simply thinks he's a drug addict and abandons him. Mahone turns to the other addicts in the prison for a fix of something, anything. Before he can shoot up, Whistler, realizing Michael isn't entirely on his side, forges an uneasy alliance with Mahone.

Meanwhile, Whistler has an emotional reunion with Sofia at the visitor's cage. She says the book was taken by Scofield's brother. Putting the pieces together, he says it's okay that Lincoln has the book. She really doesn't know what's important about the book, and Whistler won't tell, to her frustration. As she signs out, she sees Lincoln's address, logged when he visited Michael.

Lechero finds that business on the outside seems slower than usual – his take is getting smaller – and his men are losing faith in him. But his cousin says everything's normal so Lechero assumes the problem lies within the prison.

Sucre tries to sell the gun he bought the other day, but the gun shop clerk is only willing to give him 1/3 of what he paid. He sells the gun, buys some tequila and gets himself drunk.

Michael blackmails T-Bag into helping him get Lechero's cell phone by threatening to reveal that T-Bag was a pedophile and rapist. T-Bag surreptitiously unplugs the charger, so Lechero has to leave it charging at an unexpected time. T-Bag sneaks the phone to Michael while Lechero is out, telling him he has less than 30 minutes to use it – or they're both dead. Linc strong-arms Susan into putting Sara on the phone right away. Sara, speaking in code, lets him know that "Santa Rita" means "Saint Rita", the patron saint of lost causes. She's not in Santa Rita but she can see St. Rita from wherever she is. Michael, with T-Bag's distraction, just barely manages to get the phone back into the charger before Lechero returns, but not firmly enough. The charger light isn't on. Lechero knows something's up, hits redial and gets Linc. Linc cleverly doesn't speak but just hangs up so Lechero has the number researched.

Sofia catches up with Linc and finds he's helping break Whistler out of prison because he is being blackmailed into it, with his son, L.J. acting as leverage. She's stunned; she thought Whistler was trying to get out legally with Michael's help as his attorney (not knowing that he's also a fellow inmate), and that he's only a fisherman. Lincoln takes a cab to a monument of St. Rita, which is in the red light district. He finds where Sara and LJ are being held and charges in, but their guards spirit them away in a van.

Whistler tells Michael that he's in prison because he was running a charter boat. One day, he got a call demanding to know exactly where he took a naturalist of some sort who took water samples and measurements. He said he couldn't remember but then government types started snooping around. And then a bar fight led to his incarceration in Sona. The people who are trying to get him out demand that as soon as they do, he show them where he took that guy. The book is his trip log and the only way he can retrace his steps.

Sammy suspects T-Bag of disloyalty to Lechero, and tells T-Bag to watch his back. T-Bag responds by starting to poison Lechero's mind against his men.

Bellick gets himself some shoes, thanks to Pistachio, the prison's barber. As he picks a comfy pair from Pistachio's stash, he spies Michael meeting with Mahone. Mahone forces Michael to admit he needs Whistler alive and break him out of Sona. After the meeting, Michael begins to hatch a plan for the escape.

Susan calls Linc with a warning against him ever trying another rescue attempt. To emphasize that she tells him about something left for him by the trash in the garage. Lincoln shivers as he opens a blood soaked box, the contents of which remain unrevealed to viewers as the episode ends.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • When Sara kicks her shoe through the window to get Lincoln's attention, it was only a slipper and it would be very hard to get a slipper like that through a pane of glass.

    • Goof: In the beginning of the episode, when Lincoln receives an envelope with two pictures of LJ and Sara, Sara's eye is covered by her hair. Later on, Linc gives Sara's picture to Michael. In this scene they show the same picture. However, when Michael takes a closer look it's a picture where you can see her two eyes.

    • When Lincoln shows Sucre the pictures of LJ and Sara, it's someone else holding the pictures in the close up. The skin of the hands is too pale to be Sucre's.

    • Agent Mahone was born in Boardman, Ohio, which is located in north eastern Ohio, just north east of the hospital that Michael wanted Sara to meet him in season 2.

    • While the picture of Sara was the actual actress's, the voice was not, nor was the person in the show. A body and voice double were used.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Michael (to Whistler): Some very bad people who have done some very bad things want you alive and out of this prison, which is why every bone in my body is telling me to do the opposite.

    • Whistler: My life is in your hands. How do I know I can trust you?
      Michael: You don't.

    • Susan B.: Busy day?
Lincoln: Not as busy as I'd hoped.

    • McGrady: Doesn't take long for a man to become an animal, no?

    • Michael: I'll let your compadres know who you are, what you've done and who you've done it to.
T-Bag: Let me get this straight: you're saying you're going to tell on me?

    • Lechero (to T-Bag): I deny your request. You're going to stay on as my ears. You'll report back to me everything that you hear when I'm not around.

    • Lincoln: Michael got the bounty off Whistler's head in two days. That's more than your people could do in two weeks. Show some goodwill.
Susan B.: He'll get his goodwill when Whistler's out.

    • Whistler (to Sofia): Why would I lie to you? You're the only one I can trust.

    • Michael: She's (Sara) trying to tell us where she is. I have to talk to her, Linc.

    • Michael: I think it's time to make good on all the bad you've done, Theodore. You and me, we're gonna make a deal. Lechero has a cell phone. I need it.
T-Bag: No problem. Shall I turn water into wine while I'm at it? Maybe give the guy's mother a good rogerin'?
Michael: She'll be a little old for your taste, no?
T-Bag: Careful, Pretty. Don't bite the hand you're trying to get fed out of.

    • (Lincoln asks Susan if Michael can call Sara)
      Susan: Absolutely not!
Lincoln: It ain't a request. It's a dictation of terms. My brother ain't thinking about escaping until he talks to Sara.
Susan: Oh, that's sweet. I can assure you of two things, Lincoln. One; that Sara's fine and two; you have a better chance at banging me on that bar than you do of talking to her.
Lincoln: I appreciate the offer but I'll pass.
      Susan: Yeah?
      Lincoln: Yeah.
Susan: Oh, what if that's a dictation of terms?

    • T-Bag (to Michael): If that phone ain't back on the cradle, we're both dead, you hear me? Cause my Alabama ass is not going down alone.

    • Lincoln (to Susan): One thing you should know about my brother, he's very stubborn. You want him to fetch, you throw him a bone.

    • Lechero (talking with Michael): You help me? I'm the bucky massa here, boy. Me. Not you. So if anyone want anything at Sona, it's me them will come to. So do not walk in here asking for se favor like we have some understanding. No, no, no, no, no. We do not. The next time you roll in here like that, boy, the only thing you ask me for is mercy.

    • T-Bag: I... you know, in fact, that-that there might just be the best shave I have ever seen.

    • Raul: Mr. Mahone, Raul Darinda. I'm the public defender appointed to your case.
Mahone: That's uh... that's great. I've been putting some notes that I...
Raul: Sir, I have some great news. We got you a trial date.
Mahone: That's really... Thank God. When?
      Raul: June 13th.
Mahone: I don't know... wait, wait. June 13th, June 13th... that was last week. What, we missed it?
Raul: June 13th of next year, Mr. Mahone.
Mahone: Next year? How the hell is that great news?
Raul: Usually takes two and a half year for a non-citizen to get before a judge.
Mahone: I've got a guy in here. His name is Michael Scofield. And he will testify that he set me up, and that he put the drugs on the boat.
Raul: Which will all be taken into consideration...
      Mahone: A year from now!
