Prison Break is so popular because it is a metaphor for all of our lives. I wrote this for a project in my literature class.
We fans can relate with the main characters, because our lives feel like "prisons". That is, not literally, but (our latest vocabulary word) figurative. We feel trapped by life. We go to school every day in the morning in the rain. Or grown-ups have to go to work in a job that is so dull, they feel like it's prison.
We all want to break out. Michael and gang did break out, and we cheered them on, the same way we want to break out of our depressing lives. They got freedom and a new life. We want that same new life.

Wow..i've never really thought about Prison Break like that before...that's a really good way about thinking about it

but my life isn't depressing (at least not usually right now its a little different because ive got a huge hangover) so i dont want to 'break out'. but i can see what you meant.

Ok the reason why I like Prison Break is because it is entertaining....well written. Good premise and story arcs. Twists and turns. There is romance, there is love, loyalty. And because I love Michael as a character.....and it doesn't hurt that the actor is extremely cute and has the most incredible eyes. Ok...I usually watch TV to be entertained not because any show mirrors my life.
And Henry I do hope you get to break out of "your prison" someday. Life is beautiful. Try to make the most of it.

Ok, you think very well! He escaped form prison, but remember he gets in prison again.. and what prison?? The most horrible prison ... so we can escape from one sh!t and then get into another sh!t more bad than first! so, people, take care

I hope my life gets better.. Right now it basically sucks. The one thing I really loved was PB but now that is off for many months.

I think the reason I can relate to Prison Break is because there's always something more to the story, and that's how I feel about my life. It's never just constant, it's always changing, which is good because I cannot stand repitition, I get bored very easily, which is due to the A.D.D. but what can one do? I love the story line and I'm not going to lie about this..if I was in prison ever I would break out too because it's the same thing day in and day out and I can't take it. I'm always looking for "the next big thing" in my life...something good happens, then something bad, something good, something bad and right now I just want something amazing. I'm sick of disappointments because I've had so many and it's good to atleast watch people on a show go for what the hell they want in life while I continue to sit on my couch and watch fictional characters acheive these things.
That was incredibly depressing. Yuck. *slaps self*
