  • Nothing happened!!

    1.6
I'm amazed that there was only one post against the two hour show! I finally get my husband to watch Prison Break this season and it gets worse and worse. I can't believe that the writers of season one are the writers of season two and three. Season one was GOOD.

Nothing happened tonight. Where do I start?.....so many "lame" things occured. Why the heck did they need a "ladder" when a long rope would have been better. They went down the ladder like 80 year old women. It was awful. I taped it and had to rerun that part ...to make sure I was seeing correctly ....Michael climbs down to within a few feet and the jumps to the ground. Why didn't then knock the guy out when they were going to escape instead wasting time hiding under the bunks. Why didn't Sucre just SHOOT the woman and the bodyguard and get the kid free. I could go on and on. NOTHING happened. NO surprises etc. You knew the head guy was going to want Micheal to help him escape. In the previews it shows the head of the prison telling Michale there is a tunnel. geessss an eight year old could write a better script. It's to the point that i just don't care about the characters! come on fox get some NEW writers with fresh ideas!!!!moreless
  • This episode concludes all the setups form the previous episode the best way that the writers could do it, but is weaker than the previous one.

    8.8
Presentation Phase - » (7/10). We start following the last events, this seemed more like a distraction.

Complication Phase - » (10/10). Things got pretty interesting. 3 impossible complications in the same episode, the break, the fight until someone dies and Lechero.

Climax Phase - » (9/10). It is possible that we have here 3 climax´s in the same episode, but the real climax happened when Michael was fighting Whistler until the guards came in.

Ending - » (8/10). A very good ending, but was a long time expected, but now that Michael saw that, things will be more interesting.

Time and Scene Management - » (9/10). Michael versus Whistler, this fight was a little lengthened like the break, but this don´t affect the quality of this episode.

    Plot Details/Holes- » (10/10). Didn´t notice any flaws.

Details/Progress (To point A to B) -» (8/10). The break was meant to fail, which created another impossible situation for Michael to overcome. So all was for nothing, even Mahone is will back to Sona, so this was like using a time machine to go back, every player is in their position, the only thing new this time is a character that joins the break crew.

Suspense/Tension - » (10/10)*2. You can expect high tension and moment with excellent suspense, like the last episode.

Drama - » (7/10). The drama here was weaker than the previous episode, Bellick is more soft than ever, Lincoln continues to be driven by despair.

What I liked -» The 3 complication in one episode.

What I Didn´t Liked -» There are scenes that were a little lengthened.

This episode concludes all the setups form the previous episode the best way that the writers could do it, but is weaker than the previous one.moreless
  • Awesome.

    10
When Michael is told Sara is dead he takes his anger out on Whistler by throwing in the chicken foot. Mahone's offer is not all that it seems. Lincoln and Sofia find themselves in trouble as Susan threatens to kill LJ. Lechero is losing his power over Sona. Oh my god, favourite episode of the season as I am we-watching it. I love this episode so, so much. Michael is awesome like aways. This episode is so nerve-wrecking and I also always cry. Amazing episode of Prison Break, this episdoe just sums it all up. All in all awesome episode, and Bellick is a legend too in the episode. 10 out of 10 in my opinion.moreless

  • Prison Break giving 24 a run of its money?

    9.8
Never saw so much of action on a Prison Break episode.

Michael and Whistler are locked into a fight to the death – but Michael privately tells him it's just a distraction, but vows to find out who took Sara's life and take their's. The escape plan still holds; one guard is drugged and they're leaving when the sun gives them cover from the other guard at 3:13pm. Meanwhile, Lincoln is worried that Whistler won't go quietly at the exchange and is worried about LJ. Sucre has an idea...

2:59pm. Hurtado drinks the drugged drink. 3:00pm. Bellick, contrite for once, sympathizes with Michael over Sara's death, but he doesn't want to hear it. 3:03pm. In Sammy and Papo's cell, behind the curtain, Michael uses the sounds of the prisoners baying for the fight to cover the sound of him smashing the concrete around the cell's window. Whistler's worried that Mahone's ratting them out – where is he? He's actually on the way to rat out The Company; he'll get immunity. But then Sullins says there's a problem with the Panamanians; they'll have to put him up in a hotel for a while.

3:10pm. The grate from the cell window is loose. 3:12pm. Hurtado passes out. Just as the glare comes, though, Sammy returns to his cell to get some cash. Although he notices the loose plaster, he quickly leaves. Michael uses the hammock "ladder" to climb out into No Man's Land, but clouds obscure the sun – there's no more glare. Foiled. Michael climbs back up, just barely avoiding being noticed. But what can they do now? Lechero is starting to wonder where they are. And they have trouble untying the hammock and putting the grate back in. They stash the hammock behind the curtain, a corner of it still attached to the window. Lechero finds Michael and Whistler and forces the fight. The other prisoners will kill both of them if they don't go through with it. Whistler is the first to give in to the inevitability – after all, it's either Michael or him now.

3:25pm. Susan brings LJ to the exchange site. Sucre is watching, and reports via cell phone to Linc that LJ's okay. Susan's just got a driver and a bodyguard with her. Where's Michael? Linc gets the hidden scuba gear, but an apologetic Sofia pulls a gun on him to stop him handing Whistler over. 3:30pm. Susan tells LJ that if there's no escape today, she won't need him as a bargaining chip because they'll all be dead.

The drugged Hurtado is found and roused, just as the hammock falls out the window. The guards see it. Meanwhile, an apologetic Whistler gets the drop on Michael and prepares to bash his skull in with a large stone, when the alarm is sounded. Linc and Sofia are near enough to hear it, and realize that Michael and Whistler didn't make it. Linc hides the scuba gear again; he and Sofia are once again on the same side. Linc calls Susan and tells her that Michael and Whistler are with him. They arrange to meet.

Mahone, now cleaned up and in a suit, thinks that Lang and Sullins are just trying to get him to confess to the murders. Lang says the deal's legit, and also knows Mahone's a drug addict. And he's starting to tremble again.

Colonel Escamilla and his soldiers storm the prison to find out who tried to escape; they'll get the death penalty. Papo gets shot because it was his cell. Escamilla, upset that Lechero couldn't keep his men in line, eviscerates Lechero in front of the other prisoners by revealing all the favors he's done for Lechero to keep him in power. T-Bag is hopeful he'll be Lechero's replacement. As Escamilla leaves, Lechero and Sammy realize that Michael's the one who must have tried escaping.

Pike tells Susan that the guards just took a head count; nobody has left Sona today. Sucre reports to Linc that Susan is leaving with LJ. Sucre gets in his car and cuts off Susan's van, letting her plow into him to give Linc time to catch up. Linc punches and disarms her. Agent King, has a hold of LJ. It's a standoff. Finally, Linc convinces Susan to give him one more chance to get Whistler. LJ is safe for now, though he's still her captive. They drive off, and Linc notices several body bags that have fallen out of the back of her van.

Sammy drags Michael to Lechero – but rather than kill him, Lechero, his power in the prison destroyed, wants Michael to help him break out.

Sullins tells Mahone the Panamanians are back on board with his release – but the hearing won't happen until tomorrow. Mahone, starting to get the shakes, demands the hearing happen immediately. Sullins, disgusted with Mahone, tells Lang to cuff him.

Bellick tells Michael he spent his whole career trying to keep bad people behind bars, but that Sara's death has convinced him that maybe there are more bad people outside than in prison.

At Sona's prison gates, Susan has a secret meeting ... with Whistler. She's been working for him all along. He originally told her he needed to be out in seven days; she's not filled with confidence when he says that he may actually still be able to accomplish his goals if he gets out in another couple of days from now, but she agrees to give the Scofield brothers more time. The meeting is overseen by Michael.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • This is the second time that Michael has failed at breaking out of a prison, and both are around the halfway point of the season. The episode in which Michael failed breaking out in before was season one's "End of the Tunnel".

  • QUOTES (19)

    • Col. Escamilla: (to Lechero) I thought we were compadres, you and I. I let you run your business, have your whores. When you asked me for your own personal supply of water when the plumbing went down, did I not provide it? When you asked me to get rid of the phones, make them contraband, so you could control the trade in here, did I not comply? I do all of this for you. And, in exchange, you were to do one thing for me: keep these men in line!

    • Susan B.: (to L.J.) I get it. You're a human being with dreams, plans for the future, all that. But whether you live or die isn't up to me anymore. It's in your uncle's hands now. So let's just hope he does his job.

    • Whistler: I meant what I said earlier, about Sara.
Michael: Don't you ever mention that name again. We're getting out of here and I'm trading you for my nephew. And I'm going to find out who's responsible for taking Sara's life. And I'm taking theirs.

    • Sofia: We're both doing what we have to for the people we love.
Lincoln: You do this, you're shooting my son yourself.

    • Whistler: Who goes first?
Michael: Right now my life isn't worth a damn without yours. If this doesn't go as planned, first guy through that window gets shot. That guy can't be you. I'll go.

    • Whistler: (to Michael) I don't know what you're thinking, but killing me is not going to solve your problem.

    • Michael: You want a reason to kill me?
Lechero: I've got a good reason to kill you. Because of you, it's no longer possible for me to efficiently govern this prison. Justified or not, the men no longer have faith in me. That leaves only one thing for me to do to guarantee my survival.

    • Col. Escamilla: Whoever tried to escape assaulted one of my men. As you know, any attempt on the life of a Panamanian soldier warrants the death penalty.

    • Lincoln: I appreciate you hanging around, man.
Sucre: We started this together, bro. Let's finish it that way.

    • Lang: (to Mahone) I'm not blind. My brother was a user. I can smell the stuff a mile away. Don't you accuse me of being the one who's hiding something.

    • Whistler: (punches Michael) Sorry, mate. I'm afraid only one of us is getting out.

    • Bellick: I'm sorry, Michael. I mean it. She (Sara) was a good person.

    • Michael: Hey, have you seen Whistler?
Bellick: No. You know I spent my whole career trying to keep bad people behind bars. I somehow knew with my job I was making the world a better place. And then I hear about what happened to someone like Sara. Damn. It doesn't seem like there is more bad people out there than in here.

    • Michael: This man... this man is no friend of mine!
Whistler: What happened to your girlfriend has nothing...
Michael: Her name was Sara! And she was a good person and she'd still be alive if it wasn't for you.

    • Sammy: You know why we here, boy?
Whistler: Well, I'm no doctor, but I'm just guessing your mother had a little bit too much to drink one night, and um—
Sammy: Keep talking, and you're gonna be next.

    • Lechero: You are breaking out of this prison, Mr. Scofield, and you're taking me with you.

    • Lechero: Once you make such a declaration, there's no going back.
Michael: There's nothing to go back to!

    • Susan: I know you've wanted to live by an ocean your whole life. It's sad that the closest thing you'll get is to be buried under one.
LJ: You're not gonna kill me.
      Susan: Oh?
LJ: You need me. You already killed Sara. If anything happens to me, you're out of bargaining chips.
Susan: If Michael doesn't get Whistler out today, I don't need to bargain anymore. You'll all be dead.

    • Lincoln: Wow. I'm impressed. You actually got the guts to look me in the eye as you stab me in the back.
