  • a better place to be

I hope that you had "a better place to be" and did not watch this episode. Yes, nailed it.

This is why Private Practice is struggling both creatively and in viewership: they have no idea what they are doing. Dell wanting off the show should have been the first clue.

Nothing about this episode was really enjoyable except for the fact that it was not really as long as it seemed. Betsy is a tragic case on this show, but what can you do really? If this show does not put in better episodes than this soon I think I will be done with it.moreless
  • This episode wasn't nearly as bad as everyone has been saying...

Sure, what happened to Betsy wasn't ideal, but in these sorts of cases, it rarely is. The way everyone reacted wasn't all that drastic. Adopting a child into your family is a huge change and each of the characters knew what an impact it would have. Sure, they may have wanted to help, but they acted with Betsy's best intentions.

And were the producers supposed to introduce a new permanent cast member? I think it's better to have a bit more closure rather than accepting her into the family and having to cause more havoc later.

Oh and Amy Brenneman was fantastic in this episode!moreless

Absolutely disgusting. This episode makes me want to stop watching the show. Selfish, immoral characters. What is wrong with them that they would leave a homeless girl, whom they all claim is family, out in the streets when push comes to shove? thank god for violet, otherwise this show should be canned after this episode in my opinion. shonda better make up for this hypocrisy and lack of humanity in the upcoming episodes or i'm definitely giving up watching this for good. this episode has really gone too far; she could get away with self absorbed characters gossiping about their love lives during surgery but abandoning a little child? no way.moreless
  • "Remember to keep the language clean", that's a struggle after watching that episode.

Charlotte was true to her character, but Sam, Pete totally unbelievable. Personally I'd like to have seen Addison or Violet give them the boot.

I really hope this is not the end of Betsy's story, as it's left a very sour taste indeed. If they can get over their incredibly selfish behaviour then I'm going to lose interest in the show, how can we be expected to empathise with any of these characters who'd simply let her get shipped off like that?

I'd like to see the consequences of their abandoning Betsy come back later in the series, if they choose the "oh she's found a nice family" route that will really ... (new I'd struggle)moreless
  • Betsey arrives back at Oceanside with nowhere to go, Cooper and Sheldon treat a bullied teenage boy, Naomi is out

I have never been so disappointed in a cast, producers or writers than I have with this episode of Private Practice. I cannot even fathom letting a friend or colleuge's child go into foster care when I could have done something to help. But not one of them besides Violet had the courage to step up and make the effort to do something to help that poor little girl. I agree that had Naomi been there she would have taken Betsey in within moments of her being dropped off at the clinic. A poorly written episode with a very sad character send off. What a downer!moreless
