The episode starts off with Dr. Montgomery and Dr. Sam Bennett (Taye Diggs) being all fun, flirty, and sexually instead of getting ready for work. Then when they get to work and start to interview people to take the place of Sam's ex-wife, Naomi and Jake Reilly, an ex-fling of Dr. Montgomery's (played by Benjamin Bratt) shows up and instantly it changes her whole mood and demandor. Only for him to try to play on his sudden association with Sam by writing it off as a sudden friendship, but she quickly shoots it down.
