Addison talks to her therapist about Sam. She thinks he's a better person than her but, also, he makes her be a better person.
Sam doesn't know she almost hooked up with Jake. Jake, meanwhile, takes on a challenging case. A woman born without a uterus wants to have a baby. Jake attempts a uterus transplant from the patient's grandmother. Unfortunately, the patient hemorrhages during surgery and the transplant fails. Afterwards, Jake promises to help the woman become a mother via some other means.
Amelia and Sam are working together to treat a patient with Parkinson's. Her medication has the side-effect of making her lose her impulse control. As a result, she's been sleeping with everyone she lays eyes on and given her husband gonorrhea. Sam suggests she get brain surgery to alleviate her Parkinson's tremors without the side-effects from the meds. Later, the wife tells Sam and Amelia that she actually likes her situation, because her husband is frigid. Amelia relates the woman's lack of control to her own alcoholism. Sam doesn't like the lying.
Coop tries to make amends with Charlotte and begs her to tell him how to make things right with her. She says she doesn't want to have to police him and then they have make-up sex. Things don't resolve so easily, though. Coop's long-ago ex shows up with a kid in tow. Could it be his?
Violet and Pete have post-heart attack sex. That goes well, but Pete confides in Sheldon that he feels disconnected from Violet and worries she doesn't want to be a mother to Lucas. Violet certainly doesn't like be home alone, so she joins a mommy group, which she also doesn't like. She decides to seek fulfillment by writing another book. Later they discuss parenting while lying bed, and it doesn't look like it has brought them any closer together.
