Charlotte's rival practice, Pacific Wellcare, opens its doors and the competition with Oceanside Wellness begins. Sam and Pete steal one of their clients. Addison's favorite patient goes to a the new practice for a second opinion. Dell proposes the creation of an in-house adoption program.

  • This week's episode revolves around the consequences of poaching patients, adoption and celibacy.

    The medical storylines here were pretty good. The cyclist with a heart condition who pushes himself to win a race for the rewards. The ovarian cancer patient desperate for a child one day. The adoption agency idea. I also loked the personal stories here, particularly Violet's quest for sexual fulfilment. The scene towards the end when she gets it together with Pete was very sweet. The Charlotte/Cooper scenes were full of their usual comedy. Even the scene at the end where Naomi helps Sam learn to ride a bike was well done. The only fly in the ointment is the dull relationship between Addison and Kevin. She really needs a more interesting boyfriend!moreless

    There were some really good storylines here. The adoption drama was pretty entertaining and is the kind of emotionally-charged plots that made this show a must-watch last season. The Rocket Ray Daniels storyline was excellent as well, and sam and Pete both played their parts to a t. I've said that Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice need to have more failures from their doctors and this is an example of how successful that can be.

    Wuere the show goes wrong is with the opening scenes about sex, and the irritatingly fake relationships on the program. I like the Violet character, but this Violet and Sheldon thing is really getting on my nerves. I've made my disdain for the Kevin character clear for awhile now and I just hope he and Addison eventually break up.

    This episode was not that bad, but this show is really going downhill.moreless

  • Charlotte opens her practice

    This is one of those episodes that truly represents the show. We have a central theme and the story revolves around that. We have subtle references to a common thread, and they are built up gradually to form a fine fabric of the story.

    I felt the central idea here involved one practice stealing the others business. And when business goals are prioritized over the well being of the patient, there is bound to be trouble. We see a doctor from Charlotte's practice steal one of Addison's patients by giving a false hope of curing ovarian cancer without surgery. On the other hand, we see Pete and Sam steal on of Charlotte's patients by giving him a OK to compete in a race, though he had a history of cardiac disease. Both patients have adverse reactions to their decisions. Addison manages to save the ovarian cancer patient from the brink of death, while the cyclist suffers a heart attack and dies as a result of pushing himself to hard to win the race. We also see Dell trying to start an adoption agency, and Violet trying to get into a relationship with Sheldon the shrink at Charlotte's practice. Unfortunately, this ends after only one date.

    The writers have also put an end to the Pete-Violet sexual tension, when the two start making out at the end. Overall, a fine episode.moreless
