    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Adapted from a Broadway play by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. "State of the Union", starring Ralph Bellamy and Ruth Hussey, opened at the Hudson Theater in New York on Nov 14, 1945, ran for 765 performances and won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama in 1946.

    • QUOTES (0)

    • NOTES (3)

      • Jack Rayel in "Filmed Television Drama Book" by William Hawes is incorrectly credited as being the director of State of the Union.

      • An interesting sidelight is that news tickers will be running near the set and some lines of the original play will have to be altered for both Joseph Cotten and Miss Sullavan to deliver up-to-date news. Miss Sullavan will have six costume changes during the three-acts of the play, all especially designed for her by Jerry Boxhorn.

      • Based on the 1948 film State of the Union starring Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn.
