    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Yellow Cabs' phone number is 555-4333 and the cab taken by Bobbi in this episode is 128.

      • Several addresses are noted throughout this episode; Bobbi and Profit's penthouse at 1919 Beach, The Joan Kinderson nursing Home, Room 402 where Arnold Stokowski, aka Stephens resides and the Good Samaritan Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma where Arnold Stokowski resided for 13 years.

      • Bobbi's parking receipt:

From TCP (TriCounty Parking Lots) on March 14, 1995 at 3:21 at the MJ Parkade. The timestamp shows Time In as 12:17PM and Time Out as 3:21PM, March 8, 1995. The total charged was $2.00 even.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • Profit: Remember, you can't run from yourself and you can't run from your past.
Joanne: And you can't run from me, you son of a bitch.

      • Jim Profit: (voice-over) Well, ya can't expect everyone to like ya, and you can't expect everything to work out exactly the way you plan it... because life is full of surprises-you never really know what's around the next corner. But if you do the best you can, and you give 100%, then you can go to sleep with a clear conscience. What you didn't win today, you can always win tomorrow, and, remember, never lose sight of your goals. Because there are some people who are really worth that extra time and effort. And in the end, I believe, if you work hard enough...
Jim Profit: ... everyone comes around.

      • Profit: (escorting a drunk Bobbi out of a G&G shindig with gritted smile and low voice) I told you I'd get in touch with you tomorrow.
        Bobbi: Well, I got lonely...broke.
Profit: Bobbi, when will you learn to trust me?
        Bobbi: Uhhhh, how about...never.

      • Profit: You could even scream your head off; nobody'd ever hear you.
Bobbi: (a hint of fear creeping in) Never was much of a screamer.
Profit: That's not what I remember.

      • Pete: (to waiter pouring coffee, about his wife) If you're done lookin' at her tits, I'll take a check.

      • Pete: (About Profit) You know what your boss is? He's a damn lifesaver.
        Gail: Mmmhmm.

      • Profit: (voice-over) When you want someone to love you, open your heart. When you want someone obsessed with you, close it.

      • Profit: Well, you can't expect everyone to like you.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • Jack: Her name is Bobbi Stokowski, she's the wife of a farmer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Picked up in recent years on drug charges.
        Joanne: Who are you? Columbo?

Joanne is referring to the lead detective, Lieutentant Columbo, of the long-running television show, Columbo. Although coming across as a seemingly hopeless, fumbling Detective, Lieutenant Columbo had an uncanny ability to learn minor details about a suspect.

      • Sign: "Welcome To Conner Valley - 'Home of the Silver Trout'

"Conner" is likely to be a sly reference to the many cons underway at the point in the pilot that this sign is shown (Nora lying to Pete, Chaz lying to his wife, and Profit lying to everyone). Additionally, Silver Trout is an excellent bait to use whilst fishing and this fits in with Profit's world, which centers around using one person to bait another - with much of the bait leading to Conner Valley in this episode.
