Episode Summary

The designers are taken to the beach and have to create a fun and fashionable surfwear look inspired by Californian surfwear. They have to work in teams of two. Later on Tim Gunn declares that the designers have to create an avant-garde companion piece.

      • Goof: Ra'Mon is said in the episode's graphics at the very beginning of the episode to be from Dayton, Ohio. Ra'mon is actually from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is usually corrected identified as being from there. His fellow competitor Althea, however, is from Dayton.

      • Although being a member of the team, which created the winning design, Mitchell was eliminated, because his conribution to the teamwork was practically nothing. This is the first time in Project Runway history, that a member of winning team is eliminated.

      • Ra'mon was declared the winner of the challenge and won immunity for the next one.

      • The top three designers were Irina, Johnny and Ra'mon.

        The bottom four designers were Qristal, Epperson, Gordana and Nicolas.
