  • Featuring LA Union Station and Streamliners

The best part of the episode was finally seeing LA Union Station. Two whole scenes of a person waving goodbye from an art-deco Streamliner train car departing the historic Union Station!

Except in the final scene, it didn't make much sense for Seaver to be departing was he going? Perhaps to reunite with his family, but that was never really clarified...

I love this show for all its retro in the production of the show really appreciates retro collectibles...moreless
  • A Very Juliet Episode

This episode was called "A Very Juliet Episode" and was very appropriately titled as O'Hara was at the forefront of tonight's Psych. Things began with her seeking the return of an old boyfriend, but when he didn't show up, Gus and Shawn were on the case, so you knew things were going to get even worse.

This episode was not exactly thrilling, but the banter between Gus and Shawn was still there, like always. Some of the more memorable lines included Shawn being excited over kipping up during the fight with Keith Scott from One Tree Hill, telling Gus reading the report was on the top of his "to don't" list and arguing with his father over who actually solved the case.

These three episodes have actually been a bit above average, and the show is really establishing itself among cable's elite. It's as funny as NCIS and as compelling as Law and Order, so it's right up there with those cop shows that mix comedy and police work into one.moreless
  • This episode was a throwback to the earlier seasons.

What I mean buy that heading is, this episode felt more like seasons 1 and 2. To give you more of a reference, Seaons 1 and 2 of Psych rank 5 and 6, over all for me seasons. ( 1. AD Season 3, 2. AD Season 2, 3. AD Season 1, 4. Firefly, 5. Pysch Season 1, 6. Psych Season 2, 7. Scrubs Season 3, 8. Community Season 1, 9. NCIS Seasons 1-*, 10 Scrubs Season 5) ^ That was to get my word count up.

The episode felt, much funnier than anything I Have seen from Seasons 3-5 so far. I thought their banter was amazing, and I thought Lassie did amazing.

I thought they could have done a lot more with the Mummy guy, maybe made some references, or something, but overall it gives me a lot more hope for Season 5, more than I had for season 3 or 4.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Take Note: This is the episode that shows how Shawn got his scar, on his upper lip, from the shuffle with Agent Wayne. This scar can be seen during the rest of the episodes of the season.

It may be likely that James hurt himself while filming that scene.

    • Psych-out: Gag reel from the scene at Scott's door.

    • Nitpick: In this episode, a key piece of evidence is higher than expected, as it was embedded in a tree and as the tree grew it raised the evidence up. However, trees do not grow in this manner. Despite the widely held belief to the contrary, trees actually grow from the top. All parts of a tree (branches, embedded evidence, carved initials, etc.) will stay pretty much at the same height, no matter how much time passes.

    • The flashback in this episode was that of Juliet's past, not of Shawn's.

    • Pineapple Non-Spotting: There were no pineapples in this week's episode.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Mr. Waring: Do you understand about honor, Mr. Spencer?
Shawn: Of course I do, I have a bootleg copy of Saving Private Ryan at home.

    • Shawn: Hello, Mr. Waring. My name is Shawn Spencer, well-known psychic detective, and this is my associate, Burton Guster.
Gus: Now you wanna use my real name?!

    • Lassiter: I want you to listen to me, O'Hara, and believe me, 'cause it comes from the bottom of my heart: all romance ends in despair or death, but mostly despair, gut wrenching despair. And I'm, I-I-I'm actually happy this happened, because now you know and it's just gonna make you a better cop to realize all people are essentially out there to destroy any chance of happiness you ever have. I feel a hug coming on.
