Gus' height is 5'10.5".
You never hear Gus or his parents mention his sister, Joy. Mr. and Mrs. Guster mention that in the event that something would happen to them, that Nana would take care of Gus. What about his sister? Wouldn't they be worried about her too?
Trivia: Juliet has three nephews: Drake, Finn, and Isaac.
Pineapple Spotting: Henry's refrigerator has a pineapple in it.
Trivia: Shawn gives his dad a snow globe for Christmas. Actor Corbin Bernsen (Henry Spencer) owns over 7,000 snow globes, one of the largest collections of snow globes in the world.
Nitpick: The Scottish tradition of "first footing" is a New Year's tradition, not a Christmas one. Plus the first-footer brings a gift of coal, not food.
Nitpick: When in Mr. Fuller's attic Shawn and Gus are wearing different clothes from those in the following scene, although they just left Fuller's house and walked across the street between shots.
Shawn: Whoa! I'm sensing something!
Gus: What is it Shawn? Is it like the other 26 1/2 crimes we've solved for the police department?
Henry: Well Shawn, looks like another draw this year.
Shawn: Yes, it appears so.
(Exchange their gifts, Shawn opens his first)
Shawn: Oh look at this, little Psych golf balls.
Henry: I also signed you up for lessons at the golf park down at Santa Barbara Municipal Course.
Shawn: Sweet dad, thank you. All right your turn.
Henry: Oh, all right. No idea what this is.
(Opens and finds a note)
Henry: What is this. (Reading note) Dear Dad, you got me monogrammed Psych golf balls and golf lessons with the pro down at the Municipal Course.
Shawn: Turn it over, turn it over.
Henry: (Continues reading) I believe his name is Pierre.
Shawn: Booyah, I got you old man.
Henry: That's it Shawn, you know, this is the last year we're gonna play this stupid little game.
Shawn: (On the phone with his dad, who is trying to guess what Shawn got him.) Dad... no it is not an engraved set of rubber bullets. Why would I possibly give you another excuse to shoot a gun... Well you better keep thinking.
(After arguing about whether Mr. Guster is guilty)
Shawn: My God, we went almost three hours without having an argument.
Henry: Hm. It's our best holiday in years huh?
(Gus and Shawn gave McNab a Daisy Red Rider BB gun for Christmas)
Gus: He's gonna shoot his eye out.
Shawn: Yes he is.
Gus: That was amazing. How did you know that?
Shawn: Uh, the room where I take naps shares a vent with the room where they do the psychological evals.
(Walk over to Lassiter)
Shawn: Lassie.
(Hands Lassiter a snow globe)
Lassiter: I, I hate snow globes.
Shawn: Ah, that's strange. My psychic senses told me specifically that snow globes didn't give you nightmares about being trapped in a clear ball with snow that burns your skin off.
Shawn: I can think of someone who could use a little cheer this time of year. Recently divorced.
Gus: Separated.
Shawn: Estranged?
Gus: Umm...
Shawn: Embattled.
Gus: Yes.
Shawn: And all alone for the holidays.
(They look over at Lassiter, who has found his desk filled with snow globes)
Lassiter: All right. Who keeps telling people I want snow globes for Christmas?

(Shawn learns Gus' parents thought he was a bad influence.)
Shawn: I feel like Pepe Le Pew when he looked up "pew" in the dictionary. "Le Pew? Moi? No!"
Pepe Le Pew is one of the Looney Tunes; his name comes from the fact that he is a skunk.
(Shawn lists for Gus all the possible reasons he's rarely invited over to his house.)
Shawn: Hiding a Jewish family in your attic?
A reference to the Franks, a Jewish family made famous by The Diary of Anne Frank, who successfully hid from the Nazis for two years in the attic of Otto Frank's office building before someone informed the Nazis of their location.
Shawn makes a noise that imitates his heart beating as Gus goes down to see what is under the floor boards, referencing "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe. The story is about a man who murders someone then puts his body parts under floor boards but stills hears the dead man's beating heart.
Gus: Norman! Norman! Norman!
Referencing Psycho (1960), a suspense/horror film directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Gus: He's gonna shoot his eye out.
Gus says this line after Buzz walks away with the Daisy Air Rifle Shawn and Gus just gave him. This is a reference to the 1983 Bob Clark film, A Christmas Story where the boy hero dreams of an air rifle for Christmas but is always told that if he gets one, he will shoot his eye out.
