Shawn and Gus are put on the case when a food critic is murdered. However, Gus' Uncle Burton is in town, and due to a misunderstanding, Gus must pretend to be the psychic detective to avoid disappointing his family.

The Good:

-Gus gets to be in the spotlight for a change. And Shawn gets to show that - despite all the grief he gives to his buddy - he is a fiercely loyal friend.

-Gus's Uncle is an encyclopedia of detective television shows.

The Bad:

-It's strange that Gus's Uncle rips up the postcard when Gus accuses the wrong guy. At that point, he has begun to show pride for his nephew, so this seems like a harsh reaction.

-Someone would have to have credentials to be a Food Critic for a local newspaper. It doesn't make sense that their staff would get to be in the running for such a job.moreless

Funny...but not as funny.

Don't get me wrong, this was a great episode, it just didn't have the same charm as all of the other ones. Whne Shawn and Gus switch roles so Gus can impress his Uncle it seems like it will be impossible to solve the case and convince everyone else it is Shawn that it the psychic. The police think Shawn is the psychic and Gus' Uncle thinks Gus is...so it gets a little tricky. A food critic is found murdered and to solve the case Shawn takes a job at the newspaper he worked for. Meanwhile Lassiter's arm is in a sling and no one knows why...because he refuses to tell anyone. We'll find out soon enough. It was a good episode, and had some really funny parts to it.moreless

This show is the best, always funny and always a blast to watch. My whole family and some friends love this show and we watch it every friday. I think the 2nd season is as good, if not better than the first, which is awesome. This episode was hilarious. Gus's take on being psychic was very funny, and kinda girly or "wimpy" as his uncle called it. Singing to the spirits was a nice touch.

It kept up the humor and laughs as usual. Gus and Shawn's psychic duo at the end was amazingly funny.

Don't miss this show, you'll be missing a lot.moreless

Somewhat painful to watch.

This episode had to do with Gus's uncle coming to visit and Gus being the psychic detective instead of Shaun. I never really understood why Shaun acts so weird and spastic when he has his "visions", but it just seemed weirder when Gus was doing the same thing. The storyline on the other hand was pretty good: a food critic dies suddenly and Shaun and Gus have to track down the killer, which leads to someone at the newspaper.

Another thing that bothered me about the story was the uncle. There's a scene where Gus, Shaun, and Gus's uncle go around to different restaurants where the food critic reviewed the food and basically get free food. I don't know why but the uncle mooching off free food was just something that rubbed me the wrong way.moreless

The roles are reversed and Gus is the "psychic". Another hilarious episode!

Another great episode. I thought this one was really funny and there was a lot that I liked about it. I was curious to see how Shawn and Gus would fool Uncle Burton and the cops. It was great. Gus got to see that it's not as easy as it looks, also. I loved when Shawn whispered, "Magic Head" near the end of the episode, as he and Gus told how the crime had happened. LOL I was wondering why the police weren't suspicious of the way they were getting their information. But it worked out well for Shawn and Gus. It was crazy how Shawn and Gus basically abused each other to ascertain the truth about the case. That scene was hilarious.

Lassiter's mysterious injury...hmm... I was surprised that Shawn didn't try to "psychically" figure out what had happened to Lassy's arm. It was so funny to see Lassiter walking backwards through doorways. LOL

I got excited when Juliet read her horoscope, which said that her one true love would be wearing an Apple Jacks T-shirt and Shawn, having written the horoscope, had the T-shirt on. Does Shawn consider himself her one true love or was he just goofing off as usual? He jokingly asked her out on a date and she turned him down, but I think she's interested. I think she'd actually go out with him if he'd approach her seriously. Oh well, maybe I'm reading too much into it.

I'm glad we got to see someone from Gus' family, even though it was just his uncle. I know it bothers Gus that his family is impressed with his "psychic ability" and not with his real work as a pharmaceuticals rep. Poor Gus. At least he seemed happy to impress Uncle Burton.
