Psych "Right Turn or Left for Dead" Review: Eternal Sunshine of Shawn Spencer's Mind

"Right Turn" was an exemplary episode with a complex, intricately detailed plot that's rarely seen in this character-driven comedy.

    EDIT

Rather than party after the successful conclusion of his case, Shawn turns unusually introspective. He re-examines every decision made to determine if he could have changed the outcome.

When Lassie showed Elin the photos at hospital she identified the 1st photo as Cory and the 2nd as Erik. Later at the police headquarters the photos/names were interchanged on the evidence board.

Quite a mistake given the premise for the show. Obviously, since the dead boyfriends didn't have any lines it was overlooked since both were dead and the actors/director/producer didn't catch the mistake.
    • This episode was an absolute rip of the TV show 'Awake'

This episode was an absolute rip of the TV show 'Awake' - Which was a pretty awful show. They even filmed one version of his day in blue haze and the other in yellow haze, just like awake.

Sorry, I just could not buy into the premise here. This is not the kind of show that should utilize a flashback, or reimagined history premise, and James Roday isn't enough of an actor to pull it off either.

Gus' actions in the other world were disappointing and peculiar too. Just a mediocre episode overall.

      • Goof: Lassiter shows Elin two photos. First, he shows her a photo of someone Elin calls "Cory," and then he shows her the second photo which she names as "Erik". Later, when Mary Pasternak, Elin's employer, is questioned, Mary misidentifies Erik as Cory. Then, back at the precinct, their board shows photos of the two men again identified incorrectly, at least according to the first ID by Elin.
